Umm. What are the other options?

ChippieFishieHorshie Fri 07-Apr-17 15:41:31

That's a really interesting name.

No. It sounds like a town in Ireland

DaisyJammy Fri 07-Apr-17 15:48:45

Well where do the black people go then? I do love a bit of segregation hmm

rainbowstardrops Fri 07-Apr-17 15:50:24

I can't say it struck me as a 'name that sounds black' confused
I just don't particularly like it.
Sorry OP. If you love it though then go for it! smile

GuinessPunch Fri 07-Apr-17 15:50:50

Daisy this is the worst part of mn. It shows alot of racism and classism. Just look through it.
I wouldn't ever ask advice on this thread as its not representative for me.

Mrsknackered Fri 07-Apr-17 15:52:24

What GuinnessPunch said I think was sarky aimed at those who quite often comment on names that are used more by those with ethnic backgrounds.
'Blacks' can come here, bloody ridiculous. Some people can be very narrow minded and not open to other cultures (and what they call their children)
I personally like Tyrese but I love Ty/Tye on its own more.

AssassinatedBeauty Fri 07-Apr-17 15:53:21

I like Tyrese, if you like it then go for it.

MitzyLeFrouf Fri 07-Apr-17 15:53:40

Reminds me of the gorgeous male supermodel of the same name.

Mrsknackered Fri 07-Apr-17 15:53:58

GuinessPunch very true. I can't stand the 'naughty' name thing hmm

Mrsknackered Fri 07-Apr-17 15:54:36

Mitzy do you mean Tyson Beckford? Because he has been my crush for a very, very long time!

MitzyLeFrouf Fri 07-Apr-17 15:55:52

Oh actually, Tyson Beckford was the model I was thinking of. Tyrese was the name of another male model who was perfectly attractive just not Tyson Beckford levels of gorgeous grin

MitzyLeFrouf Fri 07-Apr-17 15:56:35

x post with Mrsknackered!

DoItTooJulia Fri 07-Apr-17 15:59:08

Do you like the shortened possibilities? Because longer names usually do get shortened (and conversely shorter ones, lengthened!)

Congratulations btw flowers!

GuinessPunch Fri 07-Apr-17 15:59:53

Tyrese is the singer.
Ty is a good option.

ChippieFishieHorshie Fri 07-Apr-17 16:01:04

I really like the nickname Ty.

I never thought it could be short for Tyrese (haven't heard of that name up to now). But why not? The only issue I have is that the name sounds imo quite feminine.

Congratulations smile!

Onemorewonthurt Fri 07-Apr-17 16:01:31

I don't mind Tyrese, but I do love Ty as a nn smile

SuperSix77 Fri 07-Apr-17 16:03:12

It's unusual but I like it. A friend called her little boy Tylan & he gets Ty for short. Cute.

TheElephantofSurprise Fri 07-Apr-17 16:04:20

Fine. I've known a couple of Tyreses and they were decent sorts. They were (and still are, presumably) black. I've also known black lads called Charles, Simon, Robert etc - names don't have to belong to particular ethnic groups, do they? There are some names I associate with naughty pupils, but Tyrese isn't one of them.

TheBookIsOnTheTable Fri 07-Apr-17 16:05:34

Tyrese from the Walking Dead was super cool, so I'm okay with it.

OuchBollocks Fri 07-Apr-17 16:07:16

I also think Tyrese from The Walking Dead. He was a good character so I feel warmly about the name by association.

MrsMeeseeks Fri 07-Apr-17 16:08:12

I like it.
