BillywigSting Wed 05-Apr-17 23:23:32

I'm not a fan of colours as names personally but if you like it I certainly can't see anything wrong with it.

LovingLola Wed 05-Apr-17 23:24:27

If your surname is Brown, Green, Black, Gray or White then no.

DingDongtheWitchIsDangDiddlyDe Wed 05-Apr-17 23:25:11

Fuck no. The hormones have addled your brain.

I'd say it's too out there, but that's just my opinion if you love it then go for it! Maybe be best as a middle name though?

Like Beyoncé's daughter? There's probably been an increase since she was born but it's not that bad. I used to have a dog named Blue.

TheBookIsOnTheTable Wed 05-Apr-17 23:27:02

It is pretty out there, yes. I think it's okay as a nickname though.

EssentialHummus Wed 05-Apr-17 23:29:56

Bit out there- maybe nickname for Lewis/Louis/Louie?

wantsomecoffee Wed 05-Apr-17 23:30:44

the hormones hahaha probably true! what about "Something" Blue though?

queenT90 Thu 06-Apr-17 00:19:50

It's still pretty out there as a middle name but again if you definitely like it why not!

CoffeeAndEnnui Thu 06-Apr-17 00:23:05

If it's Betty Blue, possibly. As long as she never ever watches the end of the film. Anything else Blue...not so much.

queenT90 Thu 06-Apr-17 00:23:44

Bonnie Blue

SuperBeagle Thu 06-Apr-17 00:56:01

It's fine as a middle name, but not as a first name. It's too Beyonce to work on the average kid.

CherriesInTheSnow Thu 06-Apr-17 01:05:34

Would genuinely love it as a first name if it weren't for the Beyonce connotations sad

Would make an adorable and unique middle name smile

reuset Thu 06-Apr-17 01:10:17

It could be fine as a middle name, with the right first name.

deluxetrolley Thu 06-Apr-17 01:25:40

We used to have a dog called Blue and I would love to use it as a middle name. It's always been on the list but haven't been brave enough to go ahead!

Sugarpiehoneyeye Thu 06-Apr-17 10:04:18

Blue is fine for a middle name.

DeborahFallis77 Thu 06-Apr-17 10:51:13

Love it for a middle name.

HeadlessGummyBears Thu 06-Apr-17 11:21:19

Lol as long as long as it's not Jean Blue Surname, "Blue" as a middle name might work?

Anyway, some suggestions if you like names inspired by colours:

Sky (or "Skye" after the Isle of Skye?)

originalbiglymavis Thu 06-Apr-17 11:23:02

I once knew a China White.

reuset Thu 06-Apr-17 11:25:38

I found a Snow White in the registers just this week (first name Snow, surname White), was on another thread.

ClaryBeanHorshAndMe Thu 06-Apr-17 11:28:44

Feeling blue? Once in a blue moon?

Maybe as a middle name...

strangehumour Thu 06-Apr-17 11:32:05

Probably just me being silly, but Blue is the same as Blew which just has rude things linked with it, from simple she 'blew off' (fart) to she 'blew him' (BJ) sorry to lower the tone.

My children find farts hilarious - I'm sure they'd make a connection with Blue. They erupt into laughter if we say 'but' even! (Primary age at the moment).

I love the colour though.

strangehumour Thu 06-Apr-17 11:33:42

oh, and not rude things: blew the trumpet, blew her nose.

wantsomecoffee Thu 06-Apr-17 11:38:49

strange , that is very true and never thought about that. I don't think it would sound very good putting it that way with our surname ! sad
