reafloaf Mon 27-Mar-17 21:12:46

Mike Kieran is very wrong.

zen1 Mon 27-Mar-17 21:17:23

You could have both. Ciaran with nn Cian.

ElspethFlashman Mon 27-Mar-17 21:58:34

Cian. More modern.

ZilphasHatpin Mon 27-Mar-17 21:59:26

Every Ciaran I know is an arsehole and I know lots of them.

ZilphasHatpin Mon 27-Mar-17 21:59:44

Even the Kierans are arseholes.

DramaAlpaca Mon 27-Mar-17 22:00:18

I like both, but I'd choose Cian.

CashelGirl Mon 27-Mar-17 22:01:25

Cian! My brother is a 40 year old Cian. Live that it has had a surge in popularity.

MrsDustyBusty Mon 27-Mar-17 22:03:23

You could have both. Ciaran with nn Cian.

Why would you call a child one name to give them a nickname of a different name? That's like Joseph nn Norman.

MaudGonneMad Mon 27-Mar-17 22:04:33

Is it Ciaran (pronounced Kieran) or Ciarán (pronounced Kier-awn)?

MitzyLeFrouf Mon 27-Mar-17 22:07:17

Ciaran is a bit dated.

I wouldn't have a clue how to pronounce Cian. Is it 'Chan'?

MitzyLeFrouf Mon 27-Mar-17 22:13:11

It's pronounced kee-un

Peanut14 Mon 27-Mar-17 22:16:55

Love Cian, it has definitely become very popular the past few years.

I like Ciarán too. It is dated but I do think it will become popular again like Liam etc.

What about Cillian?

heateallthebuns Mon 27-Mar-17 22:20:39

Both nice!
