Love it, but Polanski?

Rockaby Mon 27-Mar-17 12:27:02

Oh I was coming on to say how lovely it is, but yeah... Polanski. I don't know if I could get that association out of my head for a while. I would eventually though.

NC543212345 Mon 27-Mar-17 12:28:57

It wouldn't even occur to me.

I really like it but if you are unsure, what about Rowan?

EverythingEverywhere1234 Mon 27-Mar-17 12:31:28

I love the name but would never use it myself, I'm rather traditional. I personally wouldn't link it immediately to Polanski. If pushed to link it at all, I'd link it to the utterly gorgeous Roman that I went to college with.

I thought Polanski too.

Rowan seems like a good suggestion though?

coffeetasteslikeshit Mon 27-Mar-17 12:34:21

I immediately thought of Polanski too.

Gummibears Mon 27-Mar-17 13:02:10

I like it, or how about

Sophronia Mon 27-Mar-17 13:56:37

Not keen

EssentialHummus Mon 27-Mar-17 13:58:08

I'm keen. Round my way it's a traditional Russian name.

GuinessPunch Mon 27-Mar-17 13:59:29

I wanted it. Dp said no which I'm still annoyed about as Roman suits him more than the name we have him.

Jooni Mon 27-Mar-17 15:06:05

Love it

EdmundCleverClogs Mon 27-Mar-17 15:55:59

Also love it, it's a big contender for our next child! Love 'R' names in general, Rowan, Robert, Ronan...

BasicBetty Mon 27-Mar-17 16:58:53

Great name. No Polanski association here!

PunjanaTea Mon 27-Mar-17 17:10:26

Not keen on it tbh. I've met a couple of small children whose parents are chelsea fans.

Sugarpiehoneyeye Mon 27-Mar-17 17:28:17

It's not bad.

CaoNiMartacus Mon 27-Mar-17 21:05:40

I don't love it. Reminds me of gladiatorial combat.

QueenCassiopeia Mon 27-Mar-17 21:46:36

This was on our boys list smile love it op

Kazzawazza69 Mon 27-Mar-17 21:50:56

I really like it. I've heard of Roman Polanski but can't for the life of me think who he is so he didn't immediately come to mind.

heateallthebuns Mon 27-Mar-17 22:55:57

Don't like it. Sounds like trying too hard to be cool.

mycavitiesareempty Mon 27-Mar-17 22:57:50

See, my first thought was holiday. Showing my age ....

Ontopofthesunset Mon 27-Mar-17 23:00:40

I think of Abramovich before Polanski. I know a couple who are not Eastern European and also a couple who are.

MercyMyJewels Mon 27-Mar-17 23:05:15

Polanski def. So not good, sorry

DPotter Mon 27-Mar-17 23:07:42

Not keen - although I thought of Normans and Plantagenets.....

elQuintoConyo Mon 27-Mar-17 23:11:11

Love it.

I have "we are the Romans! We hate the Christians!" in Billy Connelly's voice going round my head - not in itself a bad thing grin

Ignore the Polanskis. We have a Pistorius and no one has ever commented on it.

MrsJayy Mon 27-Mar-17 23:13:36

Martin Kemps son is Roman think he is a tv presenter it is nice i wouldn't associate with polanski
