Does this sound too "fancy"?

I think it's lovely! It's pretty, original without being too out there, and the the two names sound well together.

I say go for it, but I'm sure that there will be plenty of opposing opinions Grin

Ha ha ah thank you! Well me and my husband both love it so that's a start!

I don't think Jade goes very well with Aurelia but that's just me.,.

PetalMettle · 27/03/2017 10:53

Very pretty

KnockMeDown · 27/03/2017 10:54

I only meant that on Mumsnet there always seems to be someone who doesn't like a name, though would be delighted to be proved wrong on this occasion.

If you and your husband both like it, I would venture to say that you don't really need the opinion of Internet randoms, but if everyone followed that, then we wouldn't have the entertainment that is the Baby Names forum!

Sailhome · 27/03/2017 10:58

Thanks all! I agree Knockmedown, I just wanted to test the water before she's born and we announce to everyone - it's such a big decision! Lottieandmia you may be right but we want Jade because it's a family name and important to us Star

I like Aurelia. I know an Aurelia and it 'sounds' lovely - its pronounces 'Our-relia' though (not Or-elia) which to me makes it a bit more, um, exotic?

Sailhome · 27/03/2017 11:05

Ah thanks everyone - you've made a very hormonal pregnant lady a lot less nervous about announcing the name we love for our daughter! grin]GrinGrin

It's colourful - it makes me think gold and green. I think they flow nicely together and also nice to have a meaningful family name included.

DramaAlpaca · 27/03/2017 11:15

I think it's very pretty.

KnockMeDown · 27/03/2017 12:01

I think the name will always remind me of that scene in Love Actually, where Colin Firth pitches up at the restaurant and pronounces 'Beautiful Aurelia!'

Rockaby · 27/03/2017 12:25

I like it. It's very pretty.

littlepooch · 27/03/2017 12:27

I like it!

FrenchLavender · 27/03/2017 12:30

Aurelia is lovely, Jade is a bit 90's and common.

FrenchLavender · 27/03/2017 12:30

What about Aurelia Jane or Aurelia Joy or Aurelia Jasmine.

TheHiphopopotamus · 27/03/2017 12:35

I don't like either, sorry.

Aurelia reminds me too much of 'areola' and Jade is a bit common as pp's have said.

DesdemonasHandkerchief · 27/03/2017 12:40

Love Actually connotations for me too. But it is a nice name.

LivMoore · 27/03/2017 12:40

Aurelia is beautiful. I am not personally keen on Jade but if it has meaning and significance for you it matters not a jot what others feel about it.
Congratulations!
Am I right in thinking it is pronounced (usually anyway) Or-eelia like a pp mentioned? Or are you going with Our-eelia?

ahamsternest · 27/03/2017 12:42

Sounds a bit like a character in a Mills and Boon.

Thatextrainch · 27/03/2017 13:35

Aurelia is beautiful. I'm not keen on Jade but it's better than Rose, May or Grace as a md.

Usanayme · 27/03/2017 13:47

Very pretty. Reminds me of Love Actually

Sophronia · 27/03/2017 13:58

I'd prefer Aurelia Jane
