I love Daisy. Francesca is nice but I really dislike Fran so that would put me off.

I know two Francescas, both shortened. Daisy is a lovely name.

My friend at school was called Francesca but we all called her frankie

Francesca. Daisy is so overdone.

Francesca but yes it will be shortened - a friends daughter is Cesca though.

There is a Francesca in my family but it gets shortened to Fran and Franny which are horrible!!

However i have come across a Francesca that was shortened to Cesca which i think is much better than Fran or Franny

I know a franchesca and they call her chesca.

I prefer Francesca (and Fran) to Daisy. Daisy sounds cute for a little girl but, I think, would get in the way of being taken seriously as an adult.

I know a Francesca who gets called Chesca

Love Francesca.
Hate Daisy, I know a hulking child called Daisy, it doesn't suit her at all.

Daisy has been done to death particularly Daisy-Mae!

What about

Rosanna
Rochelle
Eliza
Eloise

@BakerBear I absolutely love 'Roseanna', but only with the 'e' Sad and I feel like that's mean?

I know an adult Daisy. I think it's cool.

I love Rosanna and it was a definate if ds was a girl. I do think adding an E makes it look like there should be a space between the two names.

I think Rosanna is the most common spelling of it

Daisy! It's femenine and elegant

I love Francesca! It was top of my list for a girl for both pregnancies, but both turned out to be blue.

If you don't shorten it, I don't think anyone else will either. My husband is called Jonathan, he is now late 30s and it has never been shortened. If anyone tried, they were politely corrected and they didn't try again!

When she gets older I do think her friends would shorten it. But I think Frankie is a really cute nickname, reminds me of Frankie from the Saturdays lol. Or Cesca is nice.
Daisy is soo pretty too, whichever one you choose would be great.

I like Francesca.

The only Francesca I know in the UK is called Cesca... Not sure if you'd be ok with that shortening...?

Daisy is lovey. But it could still be shortened. Or she could have a nickname just for the sake of having one...

DeeDee, Dais, Day, Sissi, Cee-Cee, Zee or maybe even Dupsie? Or something not even related to the name?

Daisy is a lovely name. I don't think I've ever met a Daisy.

Francesca is OK but I don't like Fran or Ceska. Chess or Frankie would be OK but I still prefer Daisy.

I really like Frances though. Also Jessica, which is a bit like Ceska in sound but nicer IMO.

The two Francescas I know are both "Fran".

I like Frankie, but that doesn't seem to be the automatic shortening. But my grandmother is a Francine and she's always been Frankie.

I much prefer Daisy.

I have a francesca. She is usually Frankie. But Chesca seems to be creeping in amongst her school friends now she is older (12).

I don't personally like Daisy. But I do like Poppy and Iris.

If you hate the shortenings. Don't use Francesca. As she might decide she wants to be known as Frankie, Fran Cesca Cesi. You won't be able to stop her.

I have a name that is very frequently shortened, but I've never gone by the shorter version ever. My mum was very adamant about it not being shortened with everyone and it never was. Just put your foot down with people who want to shorten it.
