Just what the title says smile

I love Daisy. Francesca is nice but I really dislike Fran so that would put me off.

I know two Francescas, both shortened. Daisy is a lovely name.

Coverup890 Fri 17-Mar-17 18:20:52

My friend at school was called Francesca but we all called her frankie

DaffyDildo Fri 17-Mar-17 18:20:56

Francesca. Daisy is so overdone.

PatriciaHolm Fri 17-Mar-17 18:21:47

Francesca but yes it will be shortened - a friends daughter is Cesca though.

BakerBear Fri 17-Mar-17 18:21:53

There is a Francesca in my family but it gets shortened to Fran and Franny which are horrible!!

However i have come across a Francesca that was shortened to Cesca which i think is much better than Fran or Franny

CottonBuddy Fri 17-Mar-17 18:21:56

I hate all the shortenings sad

snotato Fri 17-Mar-17 18:22:35

I know a franchesca and they call her chesca.

I prefer Francesca (and Fran) to Daisy. Daisy sounds cute for a little girl but, I think, would get in the way of being taken seriously as an adult.

Pumpkintopf Fri 17-Mar-17 18:24:34

I know a Francesca who gets called Chesca

ThatsNumberWanggg Fri 17-Mar-17 18:25:38

Love Francesca.
Hate Daisy, I know a hulking child called Daisy, it doesn't suit her at all.

BakerBear Fri 17-Mar-17 18:29:55

Daisy has been done to death particularly Daisy-Mae!

What about

Rosanna
Rochelle
Eliza
Eloise

CottonBuddy Fri 17-Mar-17 18:31:28

@BakerBear I absolutely love 'Roseanna', but only with the 'e' sad and I feel like that's mean?

Kazzawazza69 Fri 17-Mar-17 18:32:05

I know an adult Daisy. I think it's cool.

BakerBear Fri 17-Mar-17 18:33:05

I love Rosanna and it was a definate if ds was a girl. I do think adding an E makes it look like there should be a space between the two names.

I think Rosanna is the most common spelling of it

Twinkletwinkle4 Fri 17-Mar-17 18:55:58

Daisy! It's femenine and elegant

mum2be2boys Fri 17-Mar-17 19:56:10

I love Francesca! It was top of my list for a girl for both pregnancies, but both turned out to be blue.

If you don't shorten it, I don't think anyone else will either. My husband is called Jonathan, he is now late 30s and it has never been shortened. If anyone tried, they were politely corrected and they didn't try again!

When she gets older I do think her friends would shorten it. But I think Frankie is a really cute nickname, reminds me of Frankie from the Saturdays lol. Or Cesca is nice.
Daisy is soo pretty too, whichever one you choose would be great.

I like Francesca.

The only Francesca I know in the UK is called Cesca... Not sure if you'd be ok with that shortening...?

Daisy is lovey. But it could still be shortened. Or she could have a nickname just for the sake of having one...

DeeDee, Dais, Day, Sissi, Cee-Cee, Zee or maybe even Dupsie? Or something not even related to the name?

BarInSpace Fri 17-Mar-17 20:13:50

Daisy is a lovely name. I don't think I've ever met a Daisy.

Francesca is OK but I don't like Fran or Ceska. Chess or Frankie would be OK but I still prefer Daisy.

I really like Frances though. Also Jessica, which is a bit like Ceska in sound but nicer IMO.

SuperBeagle Fri 17-Mar-17 20:15:29

The two Francescas I know are both "Fran".

I like Frankie, but that doesn't seem to be the automatic shortening. But my grandmother is a Francine and she's always been Frankie.

I much prefer Daisy.

Frouby Fri 17-Mar-17 20:18:43

I have a francesca. She is usually Frankie. But Chesca seems to be creeping in amongst her school friends now she is older (12).

I don't personally like Daisy. But I do like Poppy and Iris.

Sophronia Fri 17-Mar-17 20:37:55

Francesca. The one I know is Frankie.

Awwlookatmybabyspider Fri 17-Mar-17 20:53:46

If you hate the shortenings. Don't use Francesca. As she might decide she wants to be known as Frankie, Fran Cesca Cesi. You won't be able to stop her.
