During an attic clear out, such fun! They are:

hmm I wonder if any are still usable? grin

I especially love Mara and one of my favourite people is called Lena. You had great taste even at 13, Pike! My choices at thirteen were Cosimo for a boy and Cosima for a girl grin

PrivatePike Fri 17-Mar-17 11:16:32

Aw, thanks Loyly! grin I feel like Allegra was quite a wildcard entry amongst the others... And is Rois even a name? Not sure where I got that one from

Sophronia Fri 17-Mar-17 12:07:23

I really like Lena and Mara.

OhHolyFuck Fri 17-Mar-17 12:10:24

Was Lena inspired by Aqua?!

Rhubarbara Fri 17-Mar-17 12:12:56

Mine were Debbie and Jenny. It was 1982.

Yours are way more acceptable - esp. Lena, Mara, Allegra.

I'd forgotten about Tamar, so cool!

DD (10) announced to me yesterday that if she has a DD she will name her Sylvia. Which is weird, because when I was 10 I announced to my mum that if I had a DD I would call her Sylvia! DD is not called Sylvia!

WavingNotDrowning Fri 17-Mar-17 12:22:42

Mine was Bryony. I was convinced I was going to call my daughter Bryony.

I didn't.

I don't hate the name now, but it wasn't on my list.

lizzieoak Fri 17-Mar-17 12:23:16

I like your list! I remember Araminta and Darcy were on mine - not my taste at all now.

PortiaCastis Fri 17-Mar-17 12:27:23

I went to school with a Tamar but we do live south of the Tamar so it's not surprising.

Early 90s I said I'd call my dd justine, then another girl said urrhh she'll just get called just seventeen! I also liked Jessica.

I've had 2 ds since but dh and me would have gone for Victoria if we'd had a girl.

MrsCharlieD Fri 17-Mar-17 12:56:16

I wanted Atlanta and Angel. Hideous!!!!! Thank God I grew out of those choices! If this one is a girl she'll be Elena.

ButterflyOfFreedom Fri 17-Mar-17 13:40:56

Late 80's mine were Lindsey and Emma!!

I do like Mara from your (more imaginative) list!

marmitecheesetoast Fri 17-Mar-17 13:43:20

They are quite cool! Mine were Jessica, Clarrisa (...Explains it all!) or Flora!

stoopido Fri 17-Mar-17 13:47:05

Mine for girls were:

So far removed from what I like today!

TheCakes Fri 17-Mar-17 13:47:27

I was going to have Caitlyn, Nomad, Lucille or Benedict. Funnily enough, I have none of them.

Breezy1985 Fri 17-Mar-17 13:49:46

I picked my Dds name when I was 12 and used it smile

MysweetAudrina Fri 17-Mar-17 13:51:45

Bianca or Chantelle. Weren't on my list but then again either was the name i chose.

PrivatePike Fri 17-Mar-17 13:53:32

My boy's name list included Eagle and Sky hmm

That's really sweet Breezy!

stoopido Fri 17-Mar-17 13:57:00

Wow at Eagle... now that would be some name!

LittleIda Fri 17-Mar-17 13:58:09

The name i liked when I was at nursery i used for dd1

onemouseplace Fri 17-Mar-17 13:59:04

Those aren't that bad. When I was 15 or so I was convinced I was going to have 3 boys called Greg, Will and Alex(ander).

I have none of those.

PrivatePike Fri 17-Mar-17 14:00:12

I ended up calling a baby on the Sims 3 Eagle, I was obsessed with the name for a while..

MyMrKnightley Fri 17-Mar-17 15:02:26

My ds has they name I picked when I was 13, thankfully my DH loves it too. It's very traditional name

MarcelineQueen Fri 17-Mar-17 15:14:21

Mine was Tara, which most certainly didn't feature on the list for DD.

Good thread OP, impressed some of you used the names you picked so long ago, would live to know what they were
