I like Eleri or Elodie.

Not keen on Eleni, no specific reason, I just prefer the sound of the others!

Elodie is a lovely name!

Not quite so fussed about the others, Eleni sounds like Helen but you don't know how to say it, it doesn't trip off the tongue, put it that way.

I want a baby Elodie and a baby Magda after these threads this week!

I prefer Elodie, of the three.

Eleri Farrell is not easy to say

I'd add, I really love Eleni but to me it's exclusively a Greek name.

Eleri- all I hear is celery
Eleni- unsure how to pronounce it. El-en-i or El-ay-ni
Elodie- best of the three, sounds lovely and cheerful. Might get confused for Melody though.

Eleri gets my vote :)

And PP, if it sounds like celery you're saying it wrong Wink emphasis is on the second syllable

We sought of wanted a Helen name for family reasons without going down the Helen, Elenor route

Eleri farrell is quite 'r' heavy.
I'd go with Elodie out of the three.

Oh dear might have to count Eleri out now as I pronounce it to sound like celery but I know someone called this who pronounces it herself as in celery.

Elodie or Eleni. Elouise?

I like Eleri best - but I only know it pronounced as spam said!

Elodie is pretty.

Eleni, beautiful.

Eleni means 'this year' in Welsh. Fine if you live out of Wales but oddly distracting if you do.

❤️ Eleni.

Eleri is a Welsh name and is pronounced e-LAIR-ree

My husband speaks fluent Welsh and whilst Eleni is a word used in Welsh it doesn't have a direct translation into English as 'this year' in Welsh would be blwyddyn yma not Eleni. We thought of it as a possible girls name and he assures me nobody would think we had named the child 'this year. It's kind of similar to those with the name Beth it means 'what' in Welsh but nobody would ever associate the two together if you know what I mean.

Out of your names I like Elodie and Eleni the best. Not so keen on Eleri.

Eilidh is Gaelic for Helen if you are looking for a Helen name.

Elodie

Eleni is used very widely for 'this year' in Welsh. It confuses the life out of me when I hear the Greek name!

If you want a name related to Helen, there's the Welsh Elen or Elin or the English Ellen. Elen Luyddog is a mythical figure in Wales who was supposed to the wife of Maximus or Macsen.

Eleni - but only if pronounced the Greek way, El-AY-nee, not Ellen-ee

Eleri is also lovely but again only if pronounced the Welsh way, not like celery

I don't think Eleri or Elodie have much to do with Helen tbh.

Nell
Nella
Alina
Lena
Ilona
Elena
Alena

These are all variants on Helen apparently

Eleni is my fave. Beautiful name! Eleri is very lovely too.

The Greek way of pronouncing Eleni is ee-len-i not ee-lay-ni.

I love Eleri, it's beautiful but then I've got a soft spot for Welsh names
