Susanna/h - beautiful with the 'h'
Arielle - yuck
Ariella - double yuck
Millicent - triple yuck with a cherry on top
Helena - Like a lot if it has an accent over the last 'e' so its prounced Hel-ay-nah
Eliana - Nope
Amynta - err, wtf? Nooooo
Serena - lovely
Louisa - lovely
Annabella - hate it
Annabelle - hate it less, but still hate it
Erika - very nice
Antonia - Nice, but it'll get shortened to Toni, which I don't personally like

Hate them all except Louisa.
All too twee, too Disney, too convoluted or too elaborate apart from Louisa. Louisa is a beautiful classic.

Carina - ok but prefer Corina
Susanna/h - ok
Arielle - awful. Disney princess-esque
Ariella - awful. As above.
Millicent - a bit fuddy duddy
Helena - ok
Eliana - not keen
Amynta - awful
Serena - ok
Louisa - bit bland
Annabella - ok
Annabelle - ok but a bit boring
Erika - I really like Erica but spelt with a c not a k
Antonia - I like this. Not keen on nn Toni though but the one Antonia I know gets called her full name.

The only one i dislike is Millicent, Millie is nice though. My faves on your list are, Carina, Serena and Annabelle Grin

Serena and Louisa are nice. Erica spelt with a c not a k would be my preferred name from your list and I think Millicent is awful, sorry

Helena and Louisa are timeless and classy.
Serena is beautiful.
Antonia is underused and different.
Susannah, is also lovely.
I don't like any of the others, sorry.

Millimetres - named after your Nanny? Grin

No, her name is actually Julia ;)

This is great. Awesome. So, nobody seems to like Millicent? Interesting. Thanks :)

I love the name Helena.

Also like Erica, Louisa and Antonia.

I really dislike Millicent, can't understand why it's having a moment. Sounds like millipede.

I actually like Arielle but would prefer it spelt Ariel. What about Ariane?

ThoraGruntwhistle · 11/03/2017 21:53

I like Susannah and Eliana. Millicent is really horrible. The rest are okay.

I do like Ariel, but I'm just not a fan of using boy's names for girls.
And isn't that even more "disney cute" than Arielle?

I really like Millicent. If I had a baby girl she would be Millicent Jean.

MommaGee · 11/03/2017 21:57

DH likes Eliana

Report
ChippieBeanAndHorro · 11/03/2017 22:02

Oh no, Amynta is a real name. DH actually has a (long dead...) relative that was called Amynta (although it wasn't her given name).

It's interesting, there seem to be so many different opinions. Truly fascinating.

I do see why people think Arielle/a is a bit too Disney cutesy. I personally just love that it sounds quite feminine and yet the meaning of it is so ferocious and powerful...

Disney cute was a vote yes off me

Quite like Arielle, Ariella is lovely enough but sort of reminds me of 'areola' Grin

Annabella is probably my favourite (very, very pretty), with Serena and Annabelle following!!

Not sure about Millicent - reminds me of stern old ladies (could be a good thing though seeing as those type of names are coming back around! And plenty of nickname potential)

Not sure about Amynta either - certainly unique but will lead to lots of trouble re spelling/pronunciation (but then again if you love the name don't let that put you off - the world would be a very boring place if we all had bog-standard easy-to-spell names!!)

Good luck with your name search!! Smile

My favourites are Carina, Helena and Susannah. Antonia is quite nice too.

Carina, Susanna/h, Ariella, Millicent, Amynta, Annabella, Annabelle

I really like Eliana, Louisa, Erica (not with a K) and Antonia. They're pretty, feminine yet strong names.

Arielle (pronounced Ah-rhi-elle rather than aerial), Helena (I love Elena, Ee-lay-na) and Serena are nice but just a bit "meh".

I really, really dislike the others. Millicent is horrid sounding and Ariella makes me think areola.

Odd bunch of names, a few of which I have never even heard of.

Don't mind Susanna, Annabelle and Antonia.

Momma

Oh, I though "disney cute" was meant to say:
" Do you want your child to become an independent woman or give up everything for a man she doesn't even know? And anyhow, a judge called Arielle? Silly..."

Nice. An other vote for Arielle, I guess ;)

Ariella does sound like areola, doesn't it? Thank you very much. Ariella is scratched off. Blush

Carina - it's a car, Toyota Carina, so it's a no
Susanna/h - lovely
Arielle - a bit frilly
Ariella - nicer than Arielle but still frilly

Helena - OK, classic & elegant
Eliana - not keen, also frilly
Amynta - don't like
Serena - OK
Louisa - lovely
Annabella - OK
Annabelle - an over-embellished version of Annabel
Erika - like it, much prefer this spelling to Erica
Antonia - quite like
