Boys name ideas

Yesterday I found out I am having a baby boy! 😊

I had said I wanted a boy from the beginning but had thought of girls names that went well together a lot more than boys names. I haven't really got any ideas and I end up going off any names I think of after a couple of days, or if i say it too many times.

I've also gone through family member names but I'm not really up for my baby's name to be Gary (dad), Barry (grandad) as they aren't the nicest.

I like Callum at the moment but really have no ideas. Any help with names people think go well together would be great thank you. I would prefer his name to be a short name, that can't be made into something else but don't really mind at the moment as I'm completely stuck haha. Thanks x

Grin kidding, I don't have twin boys and they're not called Barry and Gary.

I would say started with the ONS top 100 names from last year (well, 2015 as 2016 isn't published until the summer). Or the full list, and just jot down the ones that stand out to you, that you like even if you wouldn't use it. It'll give you a good starting point for what you like/dislike.

Based on what you've said I can think of a few:

Evan
Ethan
Isaac
Caleb
Louie

And now I've gone blank Confused

Our baby boy list was very small!

Teddy
Dexter
Albie
Jack
Alex

& that's it! I love Gabriel, but husband didn't like the religious undertones.

TheTantrumCometh - I read that twin comment and my heart sank for a second😂

Thank you for both comments tho, I like some more of the unusual names listed so I'm gonna start making a list and pick out some of the best closer to the time.

I'm also gonna start looking online as well x

It's sort of annoying as every name I come up with, my OH seems to hate, and the other way round. We still have enough time to make a decision but I thought it would be best to start getting ideas now 😁x

@blondehair we had a huge argument over Dexter and Teddy as I loved one and DH loved the other. I have an unusual name and I really didn't want our son to have the same problem Ive had all my life!

Thank you for all of the lists guys! 😘 this is really helpful at the moment.

I like have also liked Mickey for a while but I know it will be shortened down to Mike/ Mick which I don't really like either ☹️x

Nursebickypegs My mum is called Lois, and she's been coming up with the most common names. I know she likes her name but I think she would prefer more common names in the family now haha x

@blondehair my parents say they love my name and they want my son to have an equally unusual name. I have spent my entire life responding to anything that sounds like it, it being spelt wrong and a patient recently told me "your mum must really dislike you with a name like that!" Thanks...

@blondehair I love Mickey! So cute. We liked Theodore, but DH hates Theo, so that's why we went with Teddy.

@nursebickypegs some people come out with proper horrible things about people names! I think it's good when people have unusual names. When I went to school, there was always really common names that just end up really boring because so many people are called it!

I really like mickey, I think it's cute... I haven't told many people about it at the moment as I probably will change my mind but it's defo one of my favourites at the minute and everyone seems to like it as well😊x

@blondehair One of best friends is a Ted, and he's just called his son Theodore. We joke that Theo and Teddy will be off to Glastonbury together like we did!

Yup, I was always the only one of me. Never found my name in gift shops...!

How about Micah (Mickey).

Boys names are sooooo hard.

Me and DH wanted something not particularly common but nothing ridiculous either so we have an Arron. I'm currently pregnant with DC2 and am praying it's a girl purely because there's just no boys names that I like Grin

Two of my friends just had boys and they are called Evan and Pete Smile
