DD1 is Clarissa "scandi flower" virtue name"

So, like Clarissa Akleja Temperance (for example!).

If DC 2 is a girl... I really like these:

Gemma (my favourite name tbh. It's Italian, which is great and means there will not be pronunciation issues...)
Natalia (after my favourite cousin. One of my favourite cousins. But he will be the godparent)
Carlotta (can we have a Clarissa and a Carlotta?)

The middle names will probably Erika and an other virtue name.
Or Mirabelle Ingrid smile Maybe. Or Olympia? OR Dorothea, my mother's favourite name. We're still working on that tbh.

Thanks smile

ClaryIsTheBest Tue 07-Mar-17 13:47:28

Or maybe Millicent. As a middle name, I mean. But as I said, we aren't sure about middle names yet. not at all...

Awwlookatmybabyspider Tue 07-Mar-17 13:49:06

Natalia fits lovely with Clarissa. Gemma is awful, sorry

MadMags Tue 07-Mar-17 13:49:48

It's entirely possible that I'll be the only one who thinks this...but I think Clarissa and Carlotta is adorable!

I like all your picks, except Antonia.

peaceloveandbiscuits Tue 07-Mar-17 13:51:51

I really like Mirabelle Ingrid. Where do you live?

MadMags Tue 07-Mar-17 13:52:46

I thought Mirabelle was a second name?

I'd call my cat that, not my dd!

Sophronia Tue 07-Mar-17 13:56:03

My cat's name is Mirabelle! grin

I like Antonia Mirabelle Ingrid

peaceloveandbiscuits Tue 07-Mar-17 13:56:46

Oh sorry, I thought that was a totally other option. Ingrid isn't a virtue, is it?

ClaryIsTheBest Tue 07-Mar-17 13:56:50

We currently live in London. But we may move back to my homecountry smile

Mirabelle Ingrid would be middle names. Sorry.

I tried so hard to not make my post confusing and I think I failed. Shoot...

I mean, only these are considered for the first name:

Gemma (my favourite name tbh. It's Italian, which is great and means there will not be pronunciation issues...)
Natalia (after my favourite cousin. One of my favourite cousins. But he will be the godparent)

I also think Clarissa and Carlotta adorable smile!! But maybe too adorable? I also love Gemma, so. Maybe I have bad a taste in names ;)

MadMags Tue 07-Mar-17 13:58:56

I can see how it might seem twee but I just think they're so lovely together!

Carlotta Ingrid is nice!

ClaryIsTheBest Tue 07-Mar-17 14:00:19

No. But Mirabelle is... well, I guess in the widest sense of the word?it does mean wonderful. Maybe not really a virtue name. But it would be a name chosen for the meaning. Like DD's virtue name. Maybe that doesn't make sense? But it makes sense in my head ;)

Ingird would go with the scandi middle name DD1 has.

But the middle names are currently a totally undecided tumbly mess in my head.
Sorry, I shouldn't have mentioned them. I mean, the most important thing is the first one anyway, right?

Loyly Tue 07-Mar-17 14:00:30

I really like Carlotta and it sounds great with Clarissa.

RedSauce Tue 07-Mar-17 14:00:33

I like Natalia. Not a fan of any of the others at all, sorry!

peaceloveandbiscuits Tue 07-Mar-17 14:03:07

Presumably your home country is either Italy or somewhere in Scandinavia? I think Gemma is nice and underused.

ClaryIsTheBest Tue 07-Mar-17 14:06:09

No, I actually grew up in Switzerland smile

But my mother is from Italy and my father is Swedish (and some stuff. But Swedish is his first language).

So, I think up to now everyone of the first name choices has been mentioned positively at least once. Huh.

KoalaDownUnder Tue 07-Mar-17 14:08:47

Natalia or Antonia.

Gemma is pure 1980s naffness to me.

MrsMarigold Tue 07-Mar-17 14:09:40

I like Natalia and Antonia Mirabelle Ingrid.

CakeRattleandRoll Tue 07-Mar-17 14:10:44

My favourite is Natalia.

peaceloveandbiscuits Tue 07-Mar-17 14:11:43

Aha! Switzerland! I'm trying to imagine the names said in that country's language/accent, ha.

ClaryIsTheBest Tue 07-Mar-17 14:18:05

I grew up speaking... a version of German. if that helps with the pronunciation imagination.
I mean, French and German are both widely spoken. And Italian is an official language as well (and some speak Rumantsch. But eh...).

But my parent's first languages are Swedish and Italian. So, if it's a Swedish name for example my accent isn't probably super "Swiss"?
It's sad Gemma is "old" in the UK.

I'm surprised so many like Natalia. smile Awesome smile
My mother said it sounds like a Russian Gymnast.

navy, Yeah. I once asked on here before I was even pregnant with DC2.

When DH and I were talking about trying again I was like... "GEMMA"!

(probably a bit weird)

Elisabetta is so pretty. But the meaning is so.... stern. And I know a horrible Elsbeth. Sorry.
