Blaine sounds like a name you'd find in Dubbo, Australia. Not good.

Blake is bad, but not as bad as Blaine.

Makes me think of chillblaine.

My first thought was Bane from batman, which would put me off. I'm not keen on Blake either (for girl or boy).

Pp's suggestion of Brooke is nice. I knew a girl called Dale at school, which might meet your criteria?

Reminds me of David Blaine, so it's a no I'm afraid.

Wasn't Blaine/Blane the name of the rich boy who liked Molly Ringwald in Pretty in Pink back in the 80s?

Not convinced it would be a good name for a girl (or a boy, tbh).

Report

Not keen on Blaine for a girl tbh. Blake sounds better I think. Not really my style. What about something else short but strong like Raine or Lux or Wren or Sloane or Blair or Blythe?

Wasn't he a character on Glee? The gay guy that started at the posh school then moved to the high school to be with the other guy. Had a really good voice though!

Why though?

I like Blake for a girl. Like Blake Lively.

Blaine reminds me of David, the magician.
