First names list

My boyfriend and I have children from previous marriages. His girls have very different style names to my children. His wife didn't like common names and as a result, 3 out of 4 of his children have names I'd never heard of before. The 4th has a name that isn't as uncommon though still unusual.

My children on the other hand have top 100 names. I like names that allow them to blend in.

We're having our first baby together and my boyfriend has said to make a list of names I like and he'll choose the ones he likes off the list. His criteria is that we are not to repeat an initial - he has twins starting with the same initial at the insistence of his wife and it causes a lot of trouble. He always doesn't want a super common name but wants one that people have heard of as again having unusual names has caused trouble for his children.

This is the first list of names I've come up with. What do you think?
Surname will be double barrell, first name is 3 syllables and second is 1 syllable.

Aubrey
Demi
Dixie
Edie
Eira
Ember
Gemma
Heidi
Maddie
Mara
Mira
Mya
Myra
Zara
Zoe

Avery
Bobby
Brody

I like Ada & Edie. Heidi is OK-ish too. Not keen on any of the other girls names.

The only boys names I like on your list is Edgar which could be shortened to Ed/Eddie as a nn.

Like:

  • Edie
  • Ember (prefer Amber, and think that an Ember would get confused for Amber all the time)
  • Maddie (prefer it as a nickname, but I don't dislike it on its own)
  • Zoe

Please don't use the name Myra. The association with that one is never going to die.

  • Eddie
  • Ezra
  • Bobby (prefer it as a nickname for Robert)

I like Ada and love Edie. I really like Avery not a name I 've thought of and may be stealing if i have a boy! I like Ezra but was vetoed so we comprised on Elias but went for Jonah in the end for ds1! If ds1 was a girl would have been Anya which is a lovely short name and not too popular. X

Aubrey is a boys name OP. But Audrey is lovely. Also like Ada.

I like Ezra and Edgar best from the boys ones.

Throwing a spanner in the works. How about Ziggy for a girl? There was a girl in DDs class called that and it suited her so much. Parents huge Bowie fans which explains it. I'm not keen on it for a boy.

Mya is my favourite of your girls names and Ezra for a boy.

Don't want to be negative, but Myra just makes me think Hindley Confused

From your list I'd go for Mia (Mya) or Ezra

Congratulations!
