All hypothetical at the moment as not actually pregs, so be as blunt as you like!

We like traditional, grown up / strong sounding names with potential for nicknames. So far, favourites are.

Love Francesca and Suzanna. Faye and Bryony are awful.

Like all the boys names apart from Dominic.

mikado1 Tue 28-Feb-17 19:59:42

Really like all your names. Know a really cool little Vince-great nn!

Rockaby Tue 28-Feb-17 20:03:59

Thanks both! I love Vince and Vinny too.

Bryony, Faye and Dominic are probably the names I'm least sure about too actually.

agnes158 Tue 28-Feb-17 20:06:41

Faye is on our shortlist, so i'll go with faye

dominic at a push for the boys name

Rockaby Tue 28-Feb-17 20:10:58

Yes, I've commented on your thread agnes smile. I think Faye is really pretty fwiw, but not sure it's completely our style.

RebelRogue Tue 28-Feb-17 20:11:15

I love Francesca but the two women i know with that name would put me off it. The other are a bit meh. I like all the boys names.

Rockaby Tue 28-Feb-17 20:19:04

I've just thought of another girls name; Victoria.

I also love Alexandra, Catherine and Elizabeth, but can't have them.

Also toying with Margaret, but unsure.

RebelRogue Tue 28-Feb-17 20:20:14

Catherine then.. but I'm biased gringrin

Rockaby Tue 28-Feb-17 20:23:08

I love Catherine! The other one in our family spells it totally differently, so maybe it wouldn't be so bad to use it... It's going on the list!

agnes158 Tue 28-Feb-17 20:24:09

Yes, I've commented on your thread agnes
Oh yeah smile

I like the name Margaret but purely because i'd shorten it to maggie which i love

Yeahfine Tue 28-Feb-17 20:24:22

I like Suzanna, Caroline and Francesca and Dominic and Vincent.

SwedishEdith Tue 28-Feb-17 20:30:43

Like Caroline, Suzanna and Francesca - in that order.

Dislike Faye and Bryony

Like Dominic

Neutral on the others. What about Gregory or Anthony - seem to fit your theme?

Rockaby Tue 28-Feb-17 20:35:44

I like Anthony and Gregory too, thanks!

Sugarpiehoneyeye Tue 28-Feb-17 20:41:41

I like Caroline and Robert from your list.

Sophronia Tue 28-Feb-17 23:07:39

Love Caroline, and Susanna/Susannah (not keen on the Suzanna spelling), and all of your boys list.

Pemba Wed 01-Mar-17 00:17:13

Susanna/h is gorgeous I agree (also think it looks better with 's' rather than 'z' in the middle somehow), and I also really like Caroline, which is overdue for a revival, IMO. Francesca is nice too. The others are fine.

I like your boys' names too (except not Vincent, sorry). Prefer Robert or Edward.

Rockaby Wed 01-Mar-17 07:34:51

Thanks again for these smile.

I like Susanna, but really don't like Susannah for some very strange reason! Maybe because it's too much like Hannah, which is a name I've never been terribly keen on.

I love Josephine, but DH vetoed it last time sad.

Rockaby Wed 01-Mar-17 07:37:07

Also, I'm glad people like Caroline! It's my favourite too. Like Carrie as a nn.

MrsGB2225 Wed 01-Mar-17 07:37:47

I love Bryony! Never thought of it before, but it's a lovely name. What's the nickname for it?

Rockaby Wed 01-Mar-17 07:41:20

Thanks mrs. I thought Bry, Bree or Rony maybe?

Rockaby Wed 01-Mar-17 07:42:03

Faye doesn't really lend itself to a shortening; I just like it! smile

Kazzawazza69 Wed 01-Mar-17 08:24:18

Francesca - like but really dislike Fran
Bryony - really like this
Caroline - dated
Susanna - dated
Faye - nice but a little boring as a first name - better as a middle name maybe?

Christopher/Robert/Edward - too boring/traditional for my tastes
Dominic - this is my absolute favourite name ever! I've loved it since I was about 14. Unfortunately my hubby and everyone in my family hate it :-(
Vincent - really like this - I used to have a good friend with this name known as Vince. I also know a 2 year old Vincenzo (Vinnie) who is super cute. His mum is half Italian I believe.

Rockaby Wed 01-Mar-17 08:30:36

Just thought of Nicholas too. Nice nn options with it too.

Boring / traditional is probably a fair description of our taste tbf! I do love some of the more out there names, but I don't think they really suit our family. We already have a DD with a traditional, but not well used ATM, name. My name is traditional and becoming a but mire fashionable these days. DH's is very traditional and not fashionable (not Keith but similar). Would ideally love something similar to DD's.
