We're thinking Keira. I just wanted to get an idea how this name is perceived as we aren't telling anyone IRL until she arrives Smile thank you.

Lovely!

I'd never have though of it but it's great! Short, sweet, easy to spell, actual real life name.

Good work OP!

I don't like it. But I don't detest it either. I think it's a bit dated already.

I like it a lot more than a lot of names that are posted on here Smile

She'll get odd spellings throughout her life, but it is easy to pronounce when you look at it - it known to most people without being overused at the moment. I like it for those reasons.

I really like it - it was on our shortlist for girls (but I had boys)

I like it spelled Ciara.
Not keen on 'K' names.

I like it but it gained popularity round here a while ago due to Keira Knightly so there's at least one in every school year at our school, it's very Isabella/Olivia/Grace/Evie in popularity.

It's lovely but I always get caught out on whether it should be Kiera or Keira. I know Keira Knightley is ei but did I read somewhere that that was actually a mistake by her parents on the bc?

I too read that article Elbi

Keira is the far more common spelling of the name (and was before Keira Knightly became popular). It was a spelling mistake in the sense that her mum spelt it differently to the person her father wanted her named after. Not really a spelling mistake though since they are both correct spellings of the name.

So pleased with the positive feedback. Thank you all for the honest replies. I know a name will never please everyone but nice to know that so many people like it Smile

I really like it. I know a Kiera and a Ciara, both 11, both lovely.

It's a very pretty name. I definitely prefer the K spelling, as I'm always unsure if the C is an S sound.

It's one of our possibles. Grin

It's lovely, I'd probably go for the Ciara spelling but I'm Scottish. Both are lovely.

It's a bit 90s/00s, but nice enough. I do prefer the Ciara spelling though.

I used to like it and it was one of the choices we had for dd1 - 15 years ago. I'm glad we didn't choose it now as there are 5 Kiera/Ciara's in dd's registration class.

I think it's just alright. It's not wow, I don't think it's particularly pretty but it's not offensive. It does remind of Kayleigh, Cara - a bit ... chavvy?
