nn possibly Millie.

I like floral names but many are becoming overused. Amaryllis is my second favourite flower (even I think Freesia is too out there)

Yay or nay?

I really liked this, for a middle name (we saw it on a lorry on the way to pick our adopted DD up so I may have been a bit emotional) Thankfully it wasn't an Eddie Stobart!

My DM almost wet herself laughing though when I mentioned it - so we chose something else that I also thinks DM doesn't like

I know an amaryllis but I think it's a dreadful name, sorry.

A lot nicer than the majority of top 10 names for sure!

I call my sister Amaryllis sometimes, although it isn't actually her name Grin.

I like it. It can be shortened to Amy as well as Millie. Or Rilla.

My initial reaction was Shock but actually I like it, and a good one for nicknames. Definitely prefer it to some of the trendier names currently on trend.

Millie sounds better.

Sounds a bit like an STI. Sorry!

I used to know one. She was a right old cow! That's not very helpful, is it?! Grin

Makes me think of the song that Peter Kay covered for Comic Relief (sorry, still that song will now be stuck in my head all day!)

I think it's really pretty.

I think it's beautiful but I'd probably use it as a md. Something wonderfully glam like Romilly Amaryllis

MiniMaxi · 22/02/2017 16:13

Ooh I like that!

Too frilly and poncy for my tastes. I also thought of Peter Kay straight away!

The song it brings to my mine is 'Welcome, Gentry' from Gilbert and Sullivan's Ruddigore ...'Come Amaryllis, come Chloe and Phyllis'Grin- not sure I've come across it IRL. I think its one of those, if you love it go for it names.

No, sorry, too Peter Kay.

ChardonnayKnickertonSmythe · 22/02/2017 16:24

No.

It's like a Mills and Boons novel title.

Love it. Also see Araminta. It doest take much for me to prefer any name over the current yawny top 20 but your choice is very nice

FartnissEverbeans · 22/02/2017 17:14

I love it! It's awesome

Amaryllis is my second favourite flower

I like how it means something personal to you. I would have thought Mary for NN. Or Alice (Alyss).

Report
TurkeyDinosaurs · 22/02/2017 17:39

Sounds like Phyllis, so no.

Report
Sugarpiehoneyeye · 22/02/2017 17:39

No, sorry OP.
