The name Rose

Hi, we really like the name rose, it goes well with our first borns name and its really pretty but our surname is one syllable and I feel like I need to pick a longer name which would shorten to Rose. Rosie is off the table, does anyone have any suggestions? Really appreciate any thoughts

@persisford Rosamund reminds me of Rosamund Street off coronation street... I can't get round that though dh really likes it. I didn't realise it meant rose of the world (tho that now of course makes perfect sense) it is very pretty.

First names that are hyphenated are not good.
Rose is a pretty name and Clare is nice but Rose-Clare looks odd and sounds like it's a small village in Ireland.

Rose is fine with a 1-syllable surname.

@napqueen thats a good point, no one ever really gets referred to as their full name (me and my bestfriend at school had the same first name and we never ever got called our full names even to differentiate between us)

another name i really like is Pearl (another one syllable!) what does anyone think - i am worried I'm clouded by pregnancy hormones but DH likes it too.

I am reluctant to try out these names on family and friends in case they're too negative because to be honest these are our favourite names so far.
