Girls name - if I like... ...?

We have 2x DS already and a long list of lovely boys names, but am totally lost with girls names. So many that I would use I can't for various reasons.

So far we can only really agree on Juno, but its just not quite perfect. I think it feels a bit too hard sounding, as well as a little try hard (although I do like slightly less common names, as long as they are 'real' names!)

Other names I love but can't use or don't love enough:
Cleo (Love - but know 2 little Cleos that will before long be in DS2s school class)
Phaedra (Don't like her story)
Phoebe (Really love it but too many around here, and DH not keen. Is it super popular?)
Remi (People seem to think its a boys name, plus DS1 has 4 letter name ending in i so maybe too similar)
Paloma (not right, too try hard?)
Nura (We have arabic boys names but haven't found one that's quite righ for a girl)

Middle names will be Penelope and/or Maria

We are having a girl but if she was a he we love all of the following:

Otis
Rudy
Asa
Francis
Arlo
Elias

So MN, find me a name - or convince me to love one that I have already mentioned!

How about Frances, if you like Francis?

My ds1 had a Madita in his class. I really liked that. Think it's an Astrid Lindgren character.

Nina? Elena?

Phoebe's less popular than it was, I think.

Thanks for replies - none of them jumping out at me but keep them coming!

Should have said - historically my ultimate girl's name was Isis but that can't happen now!

WTF's with the automatic Amazon link? Not cool, MNHQ, much as I approve of books in general and Lindgren in particular. angry

Ooh cross posted with a couple there. Actually quite like Astrid, but DH doesn't like it.
Elena I quite like but have an annoying association with it.
Know an Eris and a Thea, both of which would be ok but not amazing

ilovetosleep Thu 16-Feb-17 16:42:38

I didn't get an amazon link?
Quite like Polly but Dh thinks its little girly, which I can see...

At the moment Juno is still top. Persis - like that! not come across it before. DH wouldn't go for it. Persephone just too much for me. Hero I do love but think I would feel like an idiot calling that out in the supermarket (which goes for some of the other names I love)
Quite like Calla but doesn't feel like a real name. Calliope is too much.
Does anyone have a good bank of Arabic names?

Wish I could use Cleo!
Just found Clea on namberry pronounced Clay-uh but its a made up name! boo...

Have looked at most of the names on your list already broomstick but actually I really, really like Anna. Are there many Anna's around these days? Have an awful memory of one from childhood but maybe I could forget that...
