We are Spanish, so obviously our preference is Nicolas. However, Nicholas is the spelling people will automatically go for and we will be brining him up in NI.

Hi Geno, if you will be calling him Nico for short, I would go with the Spanish version.

I'm a huge fan of Nicolas Cage, so favour his spelling Wink.

I went for Nicholas and people still spelling it like Nicolas! Or Nikolas...

Niclas is another spelling.

Niclas is how my DH's name is spelt. He's Norwegian. I wouldn't recommend it, as no one ever spells it correctly. He gets Nicholas most of the time, and Nicolas the rest.

So, I'd say Nicholas.

I'd go for Nicolas, it shows his heritage

If you like Nicolas, go for that - like pp said it shows your heritage, which is lovely. People might misspell it even if you choose Nicholas, so just go for the one you like Smile

I would probably automatically spell it with the h initially until I was told the correct spelling, but as pp said I like the spelling without, especially as it has links to his heritage.
