A friend has asked me to post this. She is having twins!! She's having a bit of panic and wants to know whether other people, namely ones who don't give a stuff about offending her think about her choices.

Alison Matilda and George Leo
Paul Judah and Eli Nathan
Sophie Matilda and Rose Charlene

There you go, have at them and I'll be printing the thread off to show her!
Thanks very much! Smile

I like Alice - rather than Alison
Sophie Rose and George will be dated - Paul old fashioned

I like Eli!!!

Definitely not Paul or Alison - It's not the 80s

Report
NoCapes · 14/02/2017 20:28

I also don't understand the combinations
Surely you choose two girls names and two boys names and if its one of each sex you pick your favourite
How has she got completely different names including middle names for each eventuality?? Confused

Sophie Matilda and Paul Judah.
I especially dislike Alison. Very harsh.

Sophie and Rose are lovely.
George is OK, Alice is lots better than Alison.
Paul is very dated. Eli seems to short, Elijah is nice and use Eli.

NoCapes I have two lots of twins and had tons of name combos for every eventuality each time.

I think all of the options above are fine. Sophie and Rose are the safest options and I would be tempted to ditch Sophie in favour of Alison.

My twins had various names on big pieces of A4 paper tacked to the living room wall for weeks before and after they were born: we went to the register office wth three names and decided on the way!

You need to say both names shortened in the same breath with twins. What are the single syllable short versions of those names?

I think she needs to pick her 2 favourite names for each gender and when they are born choose. I'm confused as to why there are all the options.

I love Sophie and Rose for twin girls, both beautiful names and go well together. Think Charlene is horrible with rose tbh unless it has a meaning, it just doesn't work sorry.

Boy girl combo I like Sophie and George

Boy boy George and Eli

Does she have a favourite boys and girls name?

Out of the choices given, I like Sophie Matilda and George Leo. Not keen on the others I'm afraid.

George Leo and Sophie Matilda

Re:1970's, think Alison and Paul might be due for revival like Amanda and Jonathan.

I hate all of them except Sophie and Rose Blush

Alison Matilda and George Leo
Paul Judah and Eli Nathan
Sophie Matilda and Rose Charlene

None of them roll of the tongue to be honest. As I was reading them, they didn't sound like they went together all that well.

I like a PP's suggestion of:

Matilda Rose and Sophie Alice
Nathan George and Leo James

Wow. Bold fail there.

Sorry but Paul & Alison aren't great - very 70s/80s...they'll probably be back in in a few years though so maybe she's ahead of her time!

George is my favourite of the boys and Alice or Alexandra as an alternative to Alison. Sophie and Rose are ok..

Not keen on Eli - maybe Elijah?

Charlene, Rose, George and Sophie are all lovely. I'm not sure why, but Leo just doesn't seem to work as a middle name.

Paul and Alison are a bit too Seventies for my liking and Matilda is just awful, sorry.

I actually like Paul and Alison, they'd be more unusual in their age group than Sophie, George etc.

Paul and Alison are very 70's.

The rest are very nice, except Charlene which is dreadful.

I would choose Sophie Matilda and George Leo.

Lots of twins around atm!

Is this for Amal or Beyoncé?

I like all the names apart from Judah. I don't think it goes well with Paul either.

Congratulations to your friend!

Eli is fab! I don't agree with all the Elijah suggestions - I think it's v tacky

Rose is lovely, so is Leo, so I think that's a good pair. Or Rose and Eli.

Alice is a bit wet I think and Paul and Alison are too dated but not yet retro. Charlene is terrible. Nathan is soppy but Nathaniel, shortened to Nate is cool.
