Kenneth was my Granddad's name and I'm suddenly loving it!

Kenneth risks being shortened to Ken... That's the only thing I don't like about it.

I do prefer Kenneth to Montgomery though. I don't like Monty/Montgomery.

I much prefer Montgomery although I know three little boys called it (nn Monty) so be prepared for th possibility that he won't be the only one at school with the name.

Hmmm, frying pan or fire? Sorry Grin

Montgomery is very grand sounding, better if you're actually the 12th Earl of Shrewsbury or similar . Monty is ok, so I'd opt for that one if forced to make a choice.

Kenneth is a great name, I love seeing these classic names coming back. Montgomery is more unusual and reminds of me of Simpsons, if your surnames is Burns ....Grin

I'm sorry, but they are dreadful. Would it be like an ironic hipster thing?

Neither, sorry!
Anything else on your list?

Kenneth. Kenny would actually be quite cute on a little boy.

Kenny is a lovely NN.
Kenneth means handsome iirc.
I like it.

Montgomery not so much.

I'm going to add another vote for neither and waiting for your hormones to settle - sorry!

Not Kenneth! Sorry, I don't think it's time yet. Maybe Ken/Kenny on its own at a push.

Monty is much nicer IMO. Montgomery is a bit much but still better than Kenneth.

Did your granddad have a middle name?

Please spare a thought for the poor child. Both are awful.

Report
TooExtraImmatureCheddar · 11/02/2017 09:06

Neither!

Report
Abetes · 11/02/2017 09:07

Please don't. You'll live to regret it. My DH's middle name is Kenneth after his father and he hates it. I did ask if he wanted to continue the family tradition and give it as a middle name to our ds but he was adamant that it should be a tradition which died with him.

Montgomery - horrible, pompous and pretentious. Please don't give you baby that name urggggh!

Kenneth - wouldn't have chosen it myself but it does have a kind if something about it and I understand why it appeals. Definitely go for it.
