I'm 34 weeks today and really struggling to come up with a name for a baby girl.

Due in march and would love something to do with spring but nothing fits.

I'm very fussy as nothing sounds perfect enough.

Would like Clara either as first or middle name (sentimental value) but can't seem to find anything that goes well with it.

Currently stuck with Clara-Mae but nothing else. Like names beginiging with S.

Don't want nothing to unusual (will always be spelt wrong or mispronounced) but also don't want the most common name.

Confused

Niamh (or Neve, if you want the straightforward pronunciation/ spelling) means radiant, bright (like Clara!), beauty in the traditional Gaelic.

All very Spring-like qualities?

Clara Neve or Neve Clara both sound pretty...

You've also got all the flower names (although Flora/ Daisy/ Iris/ Lily etc. are very popular, which you're not keen on, there are plenty of more unusual-yet-not-too-out-there ones?).

Afraid none of the 'S' names I came up with really gel with Clara, as all have 'a' endings too! helpful

Oh Lord, just realised my list accidentally included Flora...Flora Clara/ Clara Flora...not the best!

I love Daisy but partner doesn't like it Sad but not fond of any of the other traditional flower names.

Niamh is a lovely name but my cousin is called Niamh so wouldn't like to have another one in the family.

It's so hard to try a find the perfect name that flows and sounds pretty.

I don't like Clara Faith (I have always been very against names like Faith, Hope, Destiny) but does sound very pretty with Faith.

I feel that Sue, Jean and Seren all sound very old Sad

Sorry, you're all being super helpful and i'm just too fussy!

I think it sounds lovely with something longer, like Clara Elizabeth, personally.

Some lovely suggestions, thanks everyone. Still not set on anything Sad

I agree that Clara sounds lovely with a longer middle name, just nothing sounds perfect enough!

It's a nightmare, just want to have the perfect name now!

Any other names that are meaningful to you? Not necessarily sentimental.

For instance I've always liked Clara because of the girl who is friends with Heidi in the book - do you have any like that you haven't considered?

Clara Seraphina

TBH i think there is too much pressure these to find the 'perfect' name. There is no such thing. Tastes change and your DD will make any name you choose seem perfect by making it her own.

Clara is a lovely name. Just don't bother with a middle name if you can't think of anything else you like or do what everyone else does and use Rose Grin.

Ugh that^^ should say "too much pressure these days".

Clara Elizabeth.
Clara Sophia.

I agree with Klingy though if nothing stands out you don't have to have a middle name.

Don't want nothing to unusual (will always be spelt wrong or mispronounced) but also don't want the most common name. It may seem the easiest name in the world but it'll still be mispronounced & mispelt. Carla, Cara, Carly, Claire, Clarissa still confused by that one Angry

Thank you for all your help. We definitely would like Clara (it means a lot to my partner).

I know what people are saying about the 'perfect' name but I just feel like need something that flows and sounds nice together. The surname is not exactly the easiest for things to go with as some names suggested are lovely but awful with the surname Grin

I see what you are saying too about misspelling/pronouncing but just want to avoid something like emalee - If i was to go with a name like emily I would stick with the tradiational spelling.

partner likes:m Clara-Mae Sophia G........ but I am not sure. I absolutely love Clara Grace Gr...... but cannot have Grace Sad

Have lots of other names that I like: Sophie, Sophia, Sienna, Elouise, Daisy, Savannah, Sacha, Leila - Just don't think that anything fits perfectly with Clara.

We are keen on having Mae with Clara though. Maybe just stick with Clara-Mae G........ ?
