Last minute Welsh girls names needed

(23 Posts)

I keep going round in circles with girls names. Baby is due in 3 weeks (sex is unknown). We want a Welsh name. On our list so far is
Ffion
Carys
Nia

Would like to add more to the list to take to hospital. I prefer some of the more 'mainstream' Welsh names as my side of the family don't speak Welsh (DP's side is fluent). Any suggestions? We can't use Seren.

Nerys?

My family despite being welsh all have English names going back 200 years. Annie, Hannah, Nora, Honora, Veronica.

Im welsh and welsh speaking and i never thought it would suit a baby but my neighbors baby and my cousin's baby are called Gwen and its the cutest. I also like cariad which means love in welsh, but thats easier to say for me i guess seeing as im welsh, might not be so easy to non welsh speakers but its still cute

picklemepopcorn Sat 28-Jan-17 16:05:54

Cariad!
Gwyneth Gwynedd

I'd check out the spellings before settling though...
