How would you pronounce it....Rommy or Row me??

Also what do you think of it/what vibe do you get from it?

Soozikinzi Sun 22-Jan-17 21:56:03

Row mee is how I would say it I like it has a Romany vibe to me x

NapQueen Sun 22-Jan-17 21:56:10

Row Me.

All I think of is the movie, Romy and Michelle's High School Reunion

Yeah that movie with phoebe from friends comes to mind, although I've never seen it!

CactusFred Sun 22-Jan-17 22:03:57

Row me.

This was on my girls list and I was talked out of it as everyone said it made them think big fat gypsy wedding.

Still love it though!

Prefer Rosemary

DramaAlpaca Sun 22-Jan-17 22:07:50

I'd pronounce it Roe - me.

To me it's a nice nickname for Rosemary.

Joeybee Sun 22-Jan-17 22:23:47

Row-me definitely. If it was pronounced 'Rommy' I would totally dislike the name.

dalmatianmad Sun 22-Jan-17 22:27:17

I should say "Rommy" sounds like a strange version of Tommy hmm

twinjocks Sun 22-Jan-17 22:30:06

Row-me. Lovely name, but could personally never have used as it rhymes with our surname!!

JanuaryJuniper Sun 22-Jan-17 22:36:02

I would personally prefer Row mee! I'm not looking for suggestions for names to shorten if we did use it it would be Romy on the birth cert.

JanuaryJuniper Sun 22-Jan-17 22:39:43

Do you think it works with Eli & Aphra

DramaAlpaca Sun 22-Jan-17 22:54:11

Yes, it does work with Eli & Aphra.

GinIsIn Sun 22-Jan-17 22:56:16

It's Row-mee. And in Romy & Michelle's high school reunion.

Lindy2 Sun 22-Jan-17 23:07:45

The Romy I know pronounces it Rom-ee. (rhyming with Tommy).

JanuaryJuniper Sun 22-Jan-17 23:36:42

Do you know many Romys? I have never met one and like the simple but quirky vibe.

DumpedAbroad Sun 22-Jan-17 23:39:49

My first thought was 'and Michelle's High School Reunion'

But it was fleeting and thinking on the name it's self it's pretty. I like it.

JanuaryJuniper Mon 23-Jan-17 14:47:39

I think I need to have a look at that film!

BrowsOnFleek Mon 23-Jan-17 14:56:51

It's Row-me and I love it. Also love Roma. I've only met a couple of people with these names

Pluto30 Mon 23-Jan-17 19:07:21

Definitely row-me, I love it. (and I have an Eli)

I think it goes perfectly with Eli and Aphra.

primaryboodle Mon 23-Jan-17 19:21:16

Rommy, had a friend with this nickname shortened from ramara. Was lovely smile

JanuaryJuniper Mon 23-Jan-17 21:36:21

stabby we obviously have fantastic taste wink

sparechange Mon 23-Jan-17 21:38:27

I know a Romilee who was shortened to Romy pronounced 'Rommee' but I would default to RowMee as in Romy and Michelle's High schol reunion
