Would Theo be the given name or would you go for Theodore on the BC?

Sophronia Sat 21-Jan-17 12:34:11

I prefer Frederick/Freddie

MiniMaxi Sat 21-Jan-17 12:37:43

I like both names, marginally prefer Frederick / Freddie and it's nice to have the family connection I think

I love Theodore with NN of Teddy meaning if he doesn't like the abbreviation he can revert to his full name

MarmiteDoesYouGood Sat 21-Jan-17 12:55:42

I like Theodore/Theo a lot. Not a fan of Freddie at all.

Sugarpiehoneyeye Sat 21-Jan-17 13:39:26

Theo.

Sugarpiehoneyeye Sat 21-Jan-17 13:40:23

Probably in a minority, but I prefer Theon to Theodore

Stonewash Sat 21-Jan-17 13:50:25

Theo, with Theodore as full name.

KoalaDownUnder Sat 21-Jan-17 13:52:25

Theodore nn Theo.

I find Freddie a bit Archie/Alfie/cheeky-chappie-ish.

Ilovecaindingle Sat 21-Jan-17 13:54:33

We wanted Theon but dh was concerned long term when ds realised he was named after a man who had his penis chopped off! confused

mistermagpie Sat 21-Jan-17 13:56:03

Theo. Full name Theodore. I can't stand all these Freddie/Alfie/Archie/Teddy names that are around just now.

GinIsIn Sat 21-Jan-17 13:57:28

mistermagpie huh? Those are all names that have been around and fairly popular for about 200 years now... confused

Also, Teddy is another nickname for Theodore?

Chewbecca Sat 21-Jan-17 13:57:36

theo seems to be hugely more common at the moment if that makes any difference to your decision

Sugarpiehoneyeye Sat 21-Jan-17 14:37:03

Frederick.

Definitely Frederick. Lovely name smile!

Pipilangstrumpf Sat 21-Jan-17 15:28:13

Both are too cutesy and nicknamey imo.

I prefer Frederick or Theodore.

greeeen Sat 21-Jan-17 16:05:40

I like Theo/Theodore.

Love both of those names, they are both on my list. So I can't decide! Maybe just pick whichever flows better with your surname.
