Augustus, i've always loved that name. And I really like Gus as a nn.

Luckystar1 Sat 21-Jan-17 07:04:03

Augustus. Amazing name!

Lunar1 Sat 21-Jan-17 07:05:23

Monty obviously, it's lovely.

Pluto30 Sat 21-Jan-17 07:05:36

Burns or Gloop are the associations.

I like August, but not keen on Augustus. I'd still pick that over Montgomery though.

My friends dad used to keep rabbits and they were all called Monty

JournosAreLazy Sat 21-Jan-17 08:48:25

I love the name Gus but don't really like Augustus. What about Magnus?

I like Montgomery/Monty too though.

MiniMaxi Sat 21-Jan-17 09:00:47

Gus for me!

MarmiteDoesYouGood Sat 21-Jan-17 09:06:13

I think Monty is horrible, sorry. I like Augustus and August, not sure on Gus as a nickname but still MUCH nicer than Montgomery and Monty.

NormaSmuff Sat 21-Jan-17 09:07:26

well i came on to say Monty as a shortened Montgomery but now see you have shorted Augustus to Gus,
I like Gus.

NormaSmuff Sat 21-Jan-17 09:07:59

i dont like Augustus though,
what would the name be?

TheCakes Sat 21-Jan-17 09:08:28

Fabulous names for cats

GinAndOnIt Sat 21-Jan-17 09:10:17

Gus is my dog's name! I like it though, obviously.

Nataleejah Sat 21-Jan-17 09:11:36

I'd prefer August or Augustin

oldbirdy Sat 21-Jan-17 09:13:51

Or Angus....

oldbirdy Sat 21-Jan-17 09:14:47

Or Fergus...
Both much nicer than Augustus if what you really want is a Gus, IMO.

NormaSmuff Sat 21-Jan-17 09:16:30

oh agree oldbird.
Fergus, and then you can call him Gus.
but would you really want his school records/health records to state Augustus?

Pleasemrstweedie Sat 21-Jan-17 09:19:42

Monty is now a dog's name. Augustus sounds a bit pretentious in my view, but could you get away with Atticus?

dementedma Sat 21-Jan-17 09:23:50

Angus, or Fergus if you want Gus. Makes me think of pus or gussets though..

olympicsrock Sat 21-Jan-17 09:27:07

No Monty!

Love Gus, but prefer August to Augustus.

LadyMonicaBaddingham Sat 21-Jan-17 09:51:22

Agustín/ nn Gus. There was a lovely boy called Augustine at school a couple of years ago so I have positive associations with the name. Not always the case..! smile
