Our son arrived last night and we like Matthew David but my husband now isn't sure if it's a bit too boring.

Thoughts? Thank you.

I love it.

Neither name is popular or commonly used at the moment, so even though 30+ years ago they may have been seen as "boring", now they're refreshing and a break from the current trend of Alfies/Olivers/Theos etc.

Congrats! Flowers

I have a David Matthew (now 18) and I like it! Everyone knows the names and how to spell them but no-one else has them.

I love them, I also have 1 of each. I havent found another David yet but my Matthew is 1 of 3 in his class and theres another 2 in year 1 so it's clearly making a come back. Lovely classic names. Grin

David is lovely. Matthew is nice but for some reason I associate it with evangelical Christian preachers from America... Hmm

Love this name.

I like both the names, but then DH is David and DS is Metthew, so maybe I'm biased!

Combo of my DH and DB's names, I like it. It's classic and won't date. Also passed the "could do any job" or "can you put it on a witness statement" tests (i.e. You can imagine Dr Matthew/Matt the bricklayer/Matthew Yourname QC/Matt the musician etc)

And congratulations Flowers

Lovely. Both really classic names - neither over used nor unfashionable. Easy to spell and to pronounce.

Two of my favourites and agree a nice change from the modern retro names
