Are these 3 names overused at the moment in your opinion - the last 2 mainly by being similar to Ava? Stuck!

Yes everywhere. There's loads of other names.

Yes I work in a primary school and haven't seen that many, an Eva and and Ava in different years but Ava is really high on the top 10 so not sure if they're all hiding somewhere! Confused don't want to give a name too over used x

i only know one Evie at DD's school. If you like the name, who cares if it's over-used? I gave DD2 a 'rare' name just because we happened to love it, turns out it's a v common name in Poland,

Where I am I know at least 10 under 5's with those names. But they're nice names so I can see why Smile

I can't see that it matters if you really like it.
I find it funny when parents pick a rare name and find another in the class. At least you know there are likely to be others.

So overused it's ridiculous. It's gotten to the point where I don't even like those names anymore.

Don't know any Ava's but Eva's and Evie's are everywhere along with Ellie & Sophia in my area

They've been high on the names lists the last couple of years so they won't be in schools yet. Hence you not seeing them. There does seem to be lots around, but you should choose what you like.

I know a bajillion Avas, Ava Roses, Ava Janes...

They're all over 8 though so maybe that particular name's usage peaked a few years ago.

Nervoussam- makes sense, didn't think of that.

Aquamarine - wouldn't want a rare name particularly, just wary of using any in the top 5. 😊

OP I really wouldn't worry too much about popularity. Like I said I have come across lots of Ava, Eva, Evie, Eve, Isla and Sophia's but I've never come across any young Poppy, Emily or Ella's and these are in the top 10 for 2015. Further, I've only come across one Amelia in all the groups I go to and I've moved since dd was born.

I also know 3 Ivy's and 2 Luna's.

This doesn't apply to boys though, sooooo many Oliver, Alexander, James and Bens(!)

In my ds's infant school there are two Avas and one Evie out of 180 children.
In my dd's juniors there are two Avas, one Evie and two Evas out of 240 children.
So not that many really.

Overused and incredibly boring.

I don't know any, most girls round here are called Grace/Gracie, Ellie, Isabella or Sophie/Sophia.

Waitrose pigeon you're a bit of a twat aren't you? Just because a name is popular doesn't mean it is "overused and boring" Hmm
