Opinions on Macy?

Thank you!

Sweets101 Sun 25-Dec-16 02:16:17

I like Macy

Ohyesiam Sun 25-Dec-16 02:53:42

You did ask

pandaporter Sun 25-Dec-16 02:55:19

That's fine, but why do you think so? smile

Sugarpiehoneyeye Sun 25-Dec-16 09:38:46

I like it, but I like Maisie more.

QuimReaper Sun 25-Dec-16 09:40:18

I don't normally like names like that but I think it's quite cute.

Wellitwouldbenice Sun 25-Dec-16 09:47:52

Very... Mmmm.... American. Makes me want to say it with an accent...

howtheheckdoidealwiththis Sun 25-Dec-16 09:51:27

Sounds like a dog's name to me. Maisie is nicer.

pinkcardi Sun 25-Dec-16 09:54:55

Not a big fan, sounds like an American department store, somehow looks a little odd, like it needs another letter in it.

Maisie is lovely.

FiaMarrow Sun 25-Dec-16 10:01:39

Macy is a great name - makes me think of Macy Gray fsmile

Maisie looks a bit twee to me.

Sophronia Sun 25-Dec-16 10:03:29

Not keen, it's a bit harsh sounding. I prefer Maisie/Maisy/Mazey

Cynara Sun 25-Dec-16 10:08:05

Agree with pinkcardi. I don't like the way it looks wriiten down. It's weirdly truncated, like a letter is missing. Also it sounds cutesy and like a nickname. I don't like it, sorry.

I prefer it to Maisie.

Mach isn't as cutesy and twee, imo.

Macy isn't as cutesy and twee.

Ops ;)

NapQueen Sun 25-Dec-16 11:34:09

I'm not a fan as it is more of a shop name to me (even though I'm in the uk). Maisie isn't a name I'm much of a fan of either.

As long as you and baby's dad love it though OP that matters more than a bunch of strangers on the tinterweb.

pandaporter Sun 25-Dec-16 14:16:31

I'm not even pregnant, I was just wondering! I like Maisy, but not Maisie - I know I'm a bit strange! I just thought Macy was less popular.

1horatio Sun 25-Dec-16 15:48:15

I know that feeling. I also started a thread about the name Gemma without knowing whether we'd actually decide to try for DC2...

But seeing as we did decide to try for DC2 (yesterday)... Who knows, maybe we will actually have a little Gemma.

I really like Macy. Maisy is cute (but I do prefer Macy. just because Maisy reminds me a bit too much of Maisie, which I really don't like).

WuTangFlan Sun 25-Dec-16 15:51:38

Macy Gray
William H Macy
Macy short for Mason
Macy's shop in US

hoddtastic Sun 25-Dec-16 16:00:25

I quite like Marcia. But not Macy.

I think Macy'd wear a big headband and have her ears pierced before starting nursery.

Vixxfacee Sun 25-Dec-16 16:01:32

Maisie is awful. Sounds like a dopey name. Macy is ok.

1horatio Sun 25-Dec-16 16:08:12

What a nice way to introduce the British obsession with class to the discussion.

Marcia makes me think of a very distant great-aunt. She's very peculiar but also rather badass. Loves liquor, her dogs and hunting.... 😂

DeckTheHall Sun 25-Dec-16 16:09:33

Sorry but it makes me think of the US department store

hoddtastic Sun 25-Dec-16 16:10:32

are you saying that kids in earrings is declasse Horatio?

I was merely pointing out she might be an early adopter of earrings and headbands and made no judgement on that smile
