Would it not be preferable to give your DD the option to choose when she got older? She could still be known as Frankie but have the option of Francesca when she was an adult.

How about Francine.

I like it Smile I think it would sound lovely with a "girly" or traditional middle name.

I think it's great. Loads of names don't have a long and a short version to choose from so don't feel like you really have go that route; there's no reason to think a child won't like being called Frankie any more than they wouldn't like being called Poppy, so if you like it go for it :D

I think it should be Francis if not Francesca.

Francis is a boy's name. Frances is lovely and underused girl's name.

If you don't like Francesca then what about Frances or Francine? Just to increase her options.

Love it! We know a Francesca, she's only ever called Frankie.

Quite like it; how about Franka or Franca also.

I have a Frankie (officially a Francesca)

Frankie is a brilliant name; no reason why you need to call her anything else (to me, suggesting other names with frankie as nickname seems odd; no one would say "call him John, but real name should be johnathan"). It's a great stand alone name (but I'm biased!)

Twin girls at a school I worked in were named frankie and Charlie.
