Amelia and then Mia as a nickname if you want. I love the sound and look of Amelia written down... Very pretty, but also a strong name.

Amelia is lovely. Mia sounds squeaky. I don't like it. (Me-ah?)

Both pretty; Mia slightly ahead as less used (around these parts, anyway).

Also love Emilia.

Amelia! Lovely name.

There will be a fair number of them her age though.

If it matters to you, according to the office of national statistics Amelia was the most popular girls name last year, and Mia was number 10. So eaither way there's likely to be a few of them in their school year!

Thanks everyone! I was thinking Amelia with Mia as a nn. Popularity doesn't really bother us either way it's more important for us to find a name we both like regardless of how popular it is.

The only downside is we have liked Amelia for a while but a new person has started in work who sits right by me and is called Amelia. Kind of feels a bit weird now. I suppose it doesn't matter?

I don't think it's too weird given its the most popular girls name

Much prefer Amelia. I know it's popular but I only know one aged 14.

I know a Maria nickname Mia.

If you're bothered by knowing someone with the name surely you are bothered by popularity? That would be a very common occurrence as she grows up!

No I'm not bothered by knowing other Amelia's that's likely to happen whatever the name unless you choose something pretty obscure. Maybe I'm overthinking it just meant it might feel a little weird when the we announce the name and the person I sit next to is like oh she's named her after me lol but yeah it's probably not an issue and I can see half of you thinking what is she going on about Grin

I have an Amelia, she's nearly 14 and there are no other Amelia's in her school of nearly 1000 pupils.
She used to be Mimi as a toddler but now doesn't use a nickname.
I still love her name, picked it out when I was a child myself!
