I love the name for DD2 but DH isn't quite sold on it. Opinions?

I don't like it personally but then it's not my baby.

Dh wanted it for dd1 and dd2 but it is too close to liar for me.

DD1 has quite an unusual name, it's strong and not too girly so I would like something similar.

I encountered the name in P Pullmans Northern Lights. Loved the character and the name.

It makes me think of the word "sly".

Love it because of Northern Lights but it does sound a bit too much like "Liar" to pass the schoolyard test I'd say!

I know a lovely 9-year-old with this name so I'm all for it! Neither her (as far as I've been told) nor her Mum have any regrets.

I think it's good to pick something that has meaning to both of you - that way what others think doesn't matter.

I thought it said Lycra at first.

We had mixed comments about our name for dd1 so not too worried about negative comments, just curious what other people think! I did wonder if it was too similar to liar.
Finding it so hard to agree! DH prefers Luna but I just think Lunatic and it feels a bit faddy, there's several around here.

On the off chance you're in Ireland and don't mind PITA spellings there's "Luisne" (pron Lishna).

It means a glow or a blush and was used to describe "the first blush of light before dawn breaks" in manuscripts of old. So beautiful.

I like it, I know 4 under 3!

I love Lyra, but not Luna.

I was convinced we were going to go with Lyra. (I loved the His Dark Materials books when young). However, the more I said it the more I thought of Lycra and Liar. I think it is one of those names that is theoretically lovely but in practice loses its shine very quick.

I don't like it. I always see Lycra when it's written down and have to do a double check. I don't like the way the name sounds either.

DD1 is called Astrid, I love it and we knew all along that is what she would be called. This time it's really tricky and I feel like I've looked at so many names that nothing seems right! Plus my line of work has ruined quite a lot of names for me.

I like Lydia. Seem to be drawn to L names this time for some reason!

Prefer Lana to Luna. Although Lana means 'wool' to me!

Prefer Luna to Lyra.

Lyra = liar or lycra
