Baby is all well and here. Just need to finalise name.

Remi is top contender right now, thoughts on it?

OlennasWimple Thu 15-Dec-16 16:20:18

Hope your surname isn't Martin

BratFarrarsPony Thu 15-Dec-16 16:21:31

good name.
Wasn't there a St. Remy?

DollyTeddy100 Thu 15-Dec-16 16:22:48

It isn't Martin but why would that be a problem?

TaggieRR Thu 15-Dec-16 16:23:48

There's a remy Martin cognac or brandy I think!

DollyTeddy100 Thu 15-Dec-16 16:25:16

Also do you prefer Remi or Remy? Which is more masculine?

AvonCallingBarksdale Thu 15-Dec-16 16:37:16

Hmmm. I do know a Remi- as a name I like it. However at school it was a rather unpleasant nickname for what was then the remedial set. That was a million years ago though!

Out2pasture Thu 15-Dec-16 16:39:09

Very old school, visions of a French Canadian fur trapper living in a log cabin.

Vixxfacee Thu 15-Dec-16 16:43:56

I like it. I called my puppy remi. I see Remy as more of a boys name, however Remy Ma the rapper spells hers like that.

DollyTeddy100 Thu 15-Dec-16 16:45:07

It's for a boy smile I'm thinking Remy is probably better.

Roomba Thu 15-Dec-16 17:06:05

It reminds me of the character in House of Cards (US version). Beyond that, I have no associations with it - it's a nice name though.

minipie Thu 15-Dec-16 17:16:08

I'd go with Remy. Remi looks like it's short for something. I like it.

heebiejeebie Thu 15-Dec-16 17:22:25

Remyifentanil. Anaesthetic

You did ask.

AutumnalLeaves38 Thu 15-Dec-16 17:26:42

I like it. Prefer the Remy spelling for a boy. As its origins mean "oarsman", I picture a strong-minded, sporty rower...(though, who knows? Could just as easily suit someone shy and studious!).

Just out of interest, do you have French family connections, or do you simply like the name?

Congratulations on your new baby boy flowers

IHeartKingThistle Thu 15-Dec-16 17:31:54

I taught a brilliant one once. Great name.

DollyTeddy100 Thu 15-Dec-16 17:34:29

We are a French family smile

Raines100 Thu 15-Dec-16 17:35:43

Congratulations on the birth of your son.

Remy (that spelling) is a lovely name.

WuTangFlan Thu 15-Dec-16 17:39:33

The rat in Ratatouille is a Remy, iirc. No other particular associations (aside from alcohol ones already covered).

VanillaSugarAndChristmasSpice Thu 15-Dec-16 17:40:18

Oh, I was a out to ask if you were French. As you are, then Yes! A friend of mine called her son Remi (they aren't French) and I that that was a bit pretentious.

Personally, I love Didier. And Olivier.

reindeerbitesback Thu 15-Dec-16 18:16:56

I love Remi (and Remy) - gorgeous name. Either spelling is lovely.

lilapril Thu 15-Dec-16 18:25:56

Remy is top of DH's list for a boy! I think it's lovely smile congratulations on your new arrival flowers

2014newme Thu 15-Dec-16 18:27:51

Do you watch house of cards?
It's normally spelt Remy like the booze

Jooni Thu 15-Dec-16 19:14:59

Remy is lovely. Not keen on the -i spelling. Congratulations flowers

Sophronia Thu 15-Dec-16 21:48:19

I really like Remy spelled this way

1horatio Thu 15-Dec-16 22:21:18
