Posting for my friend. Due their baby this Xmas.

Down to a few favourites. Middle name will be Rose as this Is my friend's mum's name. I think is traditional to call daughters flower names or related and friend would like to continue though my friend also really likes Xanthe. I feel too close to call it plus I'm trying to think of flower names for her that go with Green but I'm not being much use :(

Holly Green
Xanthe Green
Daisy Green
Fleur Green

I'd avoid anything floral with the name Green.
Maybe Theresa for a good laugh.

No. No nature/floral name with surname green.

Hmmm... Xmas baby named holly is bad enough, but Holly Green is a step too far IMO.

As pp have said, Id be inclined to avoid floral names with a colour surname

Xanthe Green is nice - the others are all awful and tbh a bit ridiculous!

Holly green isn't a good idea, sorry,

No, the flower names (with the surname) are very twee

Xanthe is nice, though!

It is like a cluedo character. Holly Green killed in the library with the candlestick

Completely biased here but one of the nicest people I ever met had that name...unique but not ridiculous. I like it 😊

Could always change the spelling to Hollie. ..

Holly Green sounds like a made up name. Like a stripper's nom de plume.

Daisy is nice and you go get away with pairing it with Green.

Fleur is a name I personally don't care for. People often mangle it and in some accents it can be very tricky to pronounce.

I love Holiday for a girl though!

Yes I actually went to school with a Theresa Green would you believe.

So far you've echoed my thoughts. I forgot to add Ella Green which is on their list...homage to another family member.

For some reason I'm finding it hard to suggest names to them that sound nice with Green as a surname.

Something floral that isn't usually green might work.

Iris Green
Clover Green

Agree with so many others. If surname is Green, then avoid plant names and avoid 'Jade'.

Ianthe is a flower name apparently, and is very close to Xanthe
also
Bryony
Zahara
Jacinta
are all flower related apparently.
