I think Rose is pretty but it depends what with.

I am the only one in my family without a middle name and I hate it.

I suppose the advantage of a middle name is that it can help distinguish between someone with the same first and last name. However, as Rose currently is the most common middle name (I recall reading that if middle names were taken into account for statistics that Rose would be a top 10 name) it probably wouldn't serve that purpose.

Rose is a pretty name but there are a million other names. It isn't the law to use Rose or otherwise have no middle name.....Confused

Rose is a hard name to put a MN with. As its more suited as a MN, but will come up with my best suggestions.

Does the OP not mean Rose as a middle name, or no middle name at all?

If so OP, I say use it. We're having a similar debate and decided better to have a middle name than not... although we're not really sure why!

Rose is a wonderful stand alone name.

If it's a choice between using Rose as a middle name or not having a middle name at all, I'd say go for Rose.

It might be the most popular middle name currently, but that's because it's a pretty name that works with almost everything.

I'm not sure why anyone would be forced to choosing Rose as mn or having no mn at all but faced with that scenario I would choose Rose

I'm a 70s child with no mn and have never liked not having a mn name. I would have been more than happy with Louise or Ann (the 70s equivalent of Rose or Grace!)

Have you really no other options?

Rose, most definitely.
The only regret in my life, I do hope my dd decides to add it at some time, but she probably won't and I wouldn't want to suggest it. Sad

I read your thread as pondering the middle name Rose...

I chose it 7 years ago but notice it's extremely common now.

Her school is full of Sophia Rose, Sophia Rose, Sienna Rose.

With my second we went for Rae. Was my Grandfathers sisters name who died as an infant, I've always loved it. Maybe that would suit? Sophie Rae etc.
