Do you think it's tacky to use princess as a middle name ? I would use it as a first name but dp won't have it .. see previous thread julia alicia rose is an option and Lilly rose . But now I'm thinking julia princess Alicia rose or same with Lilly as I really would love to include it somewhere if I'm not allowed to use it as a first name ..I also love julia winter rose but mad struck on princess being used somewhere !

HeyRoly Tue 22-Nov-16 11:37:44

It's really tacky.

PotatoIsSoHandsome Tue 22-Nov-16 11:38:13

Please don't.

Katie Prices dd is Princess....

PotteringAlong Tue 22-Nov-16 11:38:19

No. just no.

ChipIn Tue 22-Nov-16 11:38:40

Julia/ Alicia/ lily are nice names. Princess is awful and yes, it's tacky.

PoldarksBreeches Tue 22-Nov-16 11:38:42

It's fucking awful

There was a baby in NICU with us whose middle name was Princess....all the nurses and other parents were very hmm at it.

Greengager Tue 22-Nov-16 11:40:04

Julia Alicia Rose is beautiful. I'd stick with that. Personally think Princess as a name is awful.

JosephineMaynard Tue 22-Nov-16 11:41:16

I do think it's a bit tacky, sorry.

Pallisers Tue 22-Nov-16 11:41:52

I disagree. I think you can use anything you want as a middle name. your child's name will be Julia. She will rarely use Princess but when she does, people may exclaim and she can smile and say "my mum loved it".

I know a little girl called Athena whose parents are very much of the "name she can become a supreme court judge with" band. Her middle name is Sunflower.

Enjoythelittlethings Tue 22-Nov-16 11:42:05

You've picked some beautiful names... Adding Princess just totally ruins it... Sorry!

PigletWasPoohsFriend Tue 22-Nov-16 11:42:26

No. Don't do it.

BreatheDeep Tue 22-Nov-16 11:42:44

Yes it's tacky. Sarah means princess - use that instead!

Mungobungo Tue 22-Nov-16 11:43:11

Princess is a title, not a name IMO.
The original names that you've suggested were beautiful, elegant, classic and not overused.

RusholmeRuffian Tue 22-Nov-16 11:45:11

Princess is utterly dreadful. Please don't inflict it on your child.

MissBattleaxe Tue 22-Nov-16 12:14:17

She can be your little princess without you putting it on her birth certificate.

UntilTheCowsComeHome Tue 22-Nov-16 12:18:35

Would you use other titles at middle names?

James Lord Roberts
Archie Admiral Clarke
Ffion Dame Jones
Georgia Duchess Higginbotham

No? Then please don't use princess, as pp said it's a title, not a name. except a made up one used by a stripper

bea1994 Tue 22-Nov-16 12:32:03

I just think there's something pretty about it what about julia or Lilly and then winter rose

Awwlookatmybabyspider Tue 22-Nov-16 12:35:25

Don't be silly

MrsHathaway Tue 22-Nov-16 12:38:46

I think Julia Winter Rose is splendid. Julia underused and Winter Rose far more interesting than plain ubiquitous Rose.

If you like Lily do please spell it like the flower (lily) without any extra L or fluffy IE on the end. I think Lily Rose is just too flowery, not to mention being the full name of every tenth child in 2008 - the others all being Lily May or Ruby May.

KlingybunFistelvase Tue 22-Nov-16 13:12:30

I love Julia Winter Rose!

Leopard12 Tue 22-Nov-16 13:32:42

Princess is not a name!
Your dd will be laughed at and talked about, middle names are still included on ID including drivers licence she'll probably use as ID for drinking and on any certificates including qualifications.
And yes I would definitely associate it as 'chavy' and very 'unclassy'.

Maudlinmaud Tue 22-Nov-16 13:38:18

Winter Rose is beautiful and quite different.
My dcs have lovely but very normal names so I like when I hear something unique. Princess is a bit much imho but each to their own.

HollowTalk Tue 22-Nov-16 13:46:50

So Winter would be a middle name?
