Julia Alicia rose or lilly rose

MissisBee Sun 20-Nov-16 12:58:07

I prefer Julia to Lilly but I find Julia Alicia a little bit of a mouthful. However, in real life you're not going to be saying the whole full name too often

OnceMoreIntoTheBleach Sun 20-Nov-16 12:59:50

Having the to 'A' sounds together doesn't really work.

Julia Rose would be very pretty though!

Just to note pronouncing Alicia aaa liii ceee ahh not the alesha the way the American singer seems to pronouce it :/v

Deadsouls Sun 20-Nov-16 13:10:02

Lily Rose

Awwlookatmybabyspider Sun 20-Nov-16 13:19:19

I wouldn't put Julia Alicia Rosa together. There's too many Ah sounds. How about Julia Alice Rose.
Not a fan of Lily, but Lily Rose certainly rolls of the tongue.
Lily Alicia Rose sounds gorgeous

I prefer Julia on its own, which, if you are not double barrelling them is how it would be used for 99.9% of the time.
If you intend for them both to be used as a first name, the the Julia Alicia becomes a bit of a mouthful.

Original post says rose not rosa but thanks and Lilly Alicia rose is very pretty indeed smile

Backforgood I think on paper the name would be julia Alicia rose I think it looks beautiful written down ect and then we would shorten to just julia or julia rose as and when

Barefootcontessa84 Sun 20-Nov-16 17:02:17

Definitely prefer Julia to Lily- its lovely, -and definitely a breath of fresh air considering how popular Lily (and similar) has become. That said, Julia Alicia look too much together and sound too similar I think - also ending a name with an 'a' and starting the next with an 'a' doesn't help the name flow well. Julia Rose would be gorgeous.

Sugarpiehoneyeye Sun 20-Nov-16 17:02:48

Julia Rose is beautiful.

Meadows76 Sun 20-Nov-16 17:04:52

And forevermore your child will have to explain its Alicia aaa liii ceee ahh not the alesha the way the American singer seems to pronouce it

Aoibhe Sun 20-Nov-16 17:06:58

I agree, Julia Rose is beautiful.

I literally know 3 babies and toddlers called Lily Rose, or maybe that doesn't bother you?

SwedishEdith Sun 20-Nov-16 17:08:00

Julia Rose is lovely.

bea1994 Sun 20-Nov-16 18:16:04

Alternate spelling to the way I pronounce it then for Alicia ? I grew up with an Alicia and then of course famous ballerina Alicia markrova was definitely ahhh lii -cee-ahhh not alesha so i always thought that was the correct spelling ...

Barefootcontessa84 Sun 20-Nov-16 19:54:53

OP it is the correct spelling and I pronounce it your way too. Though still think it's too much with Julia!

BackforGood Sun 20-Nov-16 20:04:57

And forevermore your child will have to explain its Alicia aaa liii ceee ahh not the alesha the way the American singer seems to pronouce it

eh?
I think most people would say Alice-ee-ah, surely?
However, if it is only going to be a middle name, it will only be said at Christening, graduation and wedding and those people will know in advance.

Sophronia Sun 20-Nov-16 20:26:05

Julia is lovely

SaltyBitch Sun 20-Nov-16 20:27:04

There are a million Lily Rose's - dull as dishwater.

Julia is bloody fantastic.

Pluto30 Mon 21-Nov-16 06:39:38

Julia Rose is lovely.

I don't like Alicia at all. Outdated and awful. Plus, where I live, it definitely would be pronounced Aleesha.

Lily Rose is nice too, but Julia is much less popular.

KlingybunFistelvase Mon 21-Nov-16 15:34:10

Lily Alicia is lovely! Wouldn't bother with the Rose personally as it has become a bit of a filler name to me. I know someone who works in an office with quite a few new parents to baby girls. Of all the baby girls, not one of them does not have Rose as a middle name!

LittleFilly Mon 21-Nov-16 17:28:12

Julia Rose or Juliette Rose
