Our baby boy is a few days old but still nameless. I think he's pretty cool, as do his siblings, so would love to give him a cool name with a longer formal name.

So far have thought of Ace (Wallace or Horace), Rocky (Rocco or Rockwell). Still not totally in love with either so any suggestions welcome!

Chip (Charles or Christopher)

I went to school with brothers Ton and Topher (Jonathan and Christopher) and a Buzz (I think was Barry!)

Hal or Hank (Henry)

Nate (Nathaniel or Jonathan)

Art (Arthur)

Zee (Isiah or Isaac)

Oh god why? Just give the poor kid a nice name that won't get him bullied! Wallace and Rockwell? Are you off your rocker?

SaltyBitch Sat 19-Nov-16 19:39:30

I love Wallace. Ace is terrible though.

My brothers name is Ace.

What about two names that make an initial nickname for when he is little - like 'TJ'?

Curve Sat 19-Nov-16 20:03:09

I like Kit too - short for Christopher

Pyrrha Sat 19-Nov-16 20:04:09

I like Kit for Christopher too

SaltyBitch Sat 19-Nov-16 20:07:31

DH is a 34 year old Christopher/Kit. It was horribly unpopular when he was a kid!

Thoughtfulduck Sat 19-Nov-16 20:08:27

I like the suggestion of Arthur shortened to Art.

Baby Art sounds great and I can imagine it suiting a teen and a man too.

Strokethefurrywall Sat 19-Nov-16 20:11:27

I have a Sullivan nn Sully or Van - he seems to like it!

Bertucci Sat 19-Nov-16 20:11:38

No more Kits! They're everywhere.

Floggingmolly Sat 19-Nov-16 20:15:44

Give him a proper name and let his mates decide his nickname when he starts school. Why would you try to decide your child's nickname at this stage? confused

JoMalones Sat 19-Nov-16 20:16:59

Thank you for all those with helpful suggestions

YoScienceBitch Sat 19-Nov-16 20:20:03

I love Indie for a nickname. So Indiana or Indio.

BikeRunSki Sat 19-Nov-16 20:20:26

Jay/James, Jason or anything else that begins with J.

BikeRunSki Sat 19-Nov-16 20:23:14

X posts about Kit. I've never met one though !

WickedBadZoot Sat 19-Nov-16 20:24:54

I like initials for boys. Usually something then J : AJ, DJ, LJ etc. Does that work?

I also like Ace but don't like either of your longer names, what about Asa with Ace for short?

Shemozzle Sat 19-Nov-16 20:29:48

Atticus nn Ace.
Sylvester/Sullivan nn Sully.
Rudyard nn Rudy
Solomon nn Sol
Icarus nn Ike
Ignatius nn Iggy
Raffery nn Raff

busyrascal Sat 19-Nov-16 20:37:30

Woodrow nn Woody
Ezekiel nn Zeke
Basil nn Buzz
Montgomery nn Monty

Ignatius? Iggy for short?

Rockwell is dreadful.
