For a girl?

BigApple11 Fri 18-Nov-16 15:02:00

No.

knowler Fri 18-Nov-16 15:02:55

Absolutely no.

MadisonAvenue Fri 18-Nov-16 15:03:20

Please don't do that to her.

twocockersarebetterthanone Fri 18-Nov-16 15:03:33

Allanah yes but good god not Alan shock

SunnySomer Fri 18-Nov-16 15:03:49

That makes me think of the final snippets in the first Bridget Jones film where Daniel Cleaver is in a bar with a cross-dresser who says "my name's Alan".
Sorry.
I don't think she'd thank you

Awwlookatmybabyspider Fri 18-Nov-16 15:05:11

Ooh Good God no. For a boy I'd say its retro vintage and refreshing, but for a girl it's awful. How about Alana

ZoFloMoFo Fri 18-Nov-16 15:08:08

God no. Whether it's for a girl or boy. Just no.

SausageSoda Fri 18-Nov-16 15:14:14

Go on, I dare you. Highly unlikely you would actually do this hopefully

EssentialHummus Fri 18-Nov-16 15:15:10

HAHAHAHA grin

No.

Nanasueathome Fri 18-Nov-16 15:16:32

Oh dear

LembasBread94 Fri 18-Nov-16 15:18:40

Sounds delightful. _Love it _

Chinlo Fri 18-Nov-16 15:19:09

If we can have girls called James, then we can have girls called Alan. Go for it OP.

blueistheonlycolourwefeel Fri 18-Nov-16 15:19:36

I prefer Malcolm or Bernard.

GinIsIn Fri 18-Nov-16 15:20:58

Norman?

Manumission Fri 18-Nov-16 15:25:55

Oh for a girl.

In that case go for it. Definitely. Very pretty and timeless. Equally good on a little girl or a grown woman. Ditto dinner lady or barrister. Good choice.

QueenOfTheNaps Fri 18-Nov-16 15:55:56

Ellen maybe??
Please no little girl Alan please, it's horrendous sorry

themessedup Fri 18-Nov-16 15:56:49

Allana is nice...

Sorry but Alan just reminds me of this https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=XgvR3y5JCXg

NerrSnerr Fri 18-Nov-16 16:03:09

My daughter's favourite teddy is called Alan, I always assumed Alan was a boy teddy but I didn't consider Alan could be a girl. I will check after nursery.

Thatwaslulu Fri 18-Nov-16 16:04:59

I don't think enough girls are called Graham.

Sophronia Fri 18-Nov-16 16:40:19

grin No! Alana/Alannah

Normandy144 Fri 18-Nov-16 16:44:36

Noooo! It's not even a nice boys name. Please don't. Alana/Alannah are perfectly lovely female versions of Alan, so I'm puzzled as to why you feel you want to use Alan.

fuzzyllama Fri 18-Nov-16 16:45:57

Steve ?

squoosh Fri 18-Nov-16 16:52:31

I prefer Bert.

Nothing says 'high achieving, elegant lady' like Bert does.

MadameCholetsDirtySecret Fri 18-Nov-16 16:53:37

Squoosh as long as it is short for Norbert!
