Do you think Bailey is too feminine? This has been a favourite of mine for years but DH is insistent that it is a girls name, though I have only come across when girl named Bailey and that was on Educating Yorkshire.

Really popular name for dogs (sorry they're girl dogs too).

YoScienceBitch Tue 08-Nov-16 17:09:57

I love it. (I am biased)

NavyandWhite Tue 08-Nov-16 17:20:22

Surname or dogs name.

SausageSoda Tue 08-Nov-16 17:26:02

Another who associates it with a dog's name or surname

LunaLoveg00d Tue 08-Nov-16 17:38:09

Have only ever known one Bailey and she was female.

User1234567891011 Tue 08-Nov-16 17:46:58

Only known one Bailey, he was a boy. But he was a little shite.

Blossomdeary Tue 08-Nov-16 17:49:17

Fine while he is young, but who would want to be Old Bailey? grin

sijjy Tue 08-Nov-16 17:52:26

Love this name for a boy. (Biased too)

Sugarcoma Tue 08-Nov-16 19:37:37

Wasn't there a (hot) Bailey in Party Of Five?

strawberrypenguin Tue 08-Nov-16 19:40:50

Reminds me of Greys Anatomy! It's not a name I'd pick myself but I don't think it would be that 'put there' either

NapoleonsNose Tue 08-Nov-16 19:43:23

I know one of each, both teenagers now. Not a name I'd pick personally because I'm not keen on the surname as first name thing but I think it's fine for either sex.

temporarilyjerry Tue 08-Nov-16 19:55:52

I'm not keen on surnames as first names wither, but do quite like this spelt Bayleigh. blush

Reminds me of Bailey from Party of Five too.

Sophronia Tue 08-Nov-16 21:36:02

I know one (male) who spells it Bayley

Only known one and she was a girl. For me it's a surname and a dogs name so I don't like it for boys or girls tbh.

PoldarksBreeches Wed 09-Nov-16 04:55:14

I know male and female baileys. If you choose it do spell it properly, not Bayley or Bayleigh hmm

AmyInTheBoonies Wed 09-Nov-16 05:23:52

I think of it as a boy's name. My reference for it is the boy from 'party of five'. Which is now a really old kids tv show!

I've never met anyone called it except dogs in real life.

Joinourclub Wed 09-Nov-16 05:28:38

First thing I think of is 'dogs name '. I prefer it for a boy to a girl.

Ifailed Wed 09-Nov-16 05:32:57

reminds me of the horrible, sickly sweet drink drunk at xmas. I expect it'll do the same for their peers when teenagers.

Pemba Wed 09-Nov-16 05:56:41

Yes, I think of the drink too. Dislike 'surname' names anyway.
