Jovie?

4 weeks to go and DH and I still not decided on names. I'd definitely have Lyra or Georgia, but he's not convinced.

Came across Jovie today and he likes it! I'm not 100% but it sounds nice with our surname and works with the middle name I want.

It also has tenuous links to Christmas - it's the girl from Elf's name. We LOVE Elf Blush

Looks like a misspelling of Josie TBH

It's not a great name (sorry)

Nah, I think you'd better hold on to what you've got

I also LOVE Elf and watch it every year but didn't make the connection? I did think 'bon jon' though.

I think it's cute and different, it's that's what you're going for!

It doesn't make a difference if you make it or not.

I know a girl named Jovi.

I still think it's odd and she's 6 or 7 now.

Yes, it's very Bon Jovi reminiscent.

How about Joni? As in Joni Mitchell?

My cousins little boy is a Jovi, after Jon Bon. Doesn't feel like a real name to me

Report
HerRoyalNotness · 01/11/2016 21:32

Joni per PP is a good alternative

Quodlibet · 01/11/2016 21:37

Elvie? Effie?

babyinthacorner · 01/11/2016 21:39

I can't believe I didn't make the Bon Jovi connection myself, to be honest! Baby brain plus name desperation I guess... Wink

Joni's a great suggestion, but I know a couple of boys with that as their pet name and I wouldn't be able to get past that connection.

Think I could get DH to agree to Lyra if I start a proper campaign...

Maybe use it as a middle name, that way you're halfway there.
