Can we name our daughter Grace, or is our surname stopping us?

Our daughter arrived yesterday - a Halloween baby Wink we absolutely love the name Grace.

Our surname is Samuels-Grey (yes, we know it sounds like 'Samuel's grey')... We can't have a Grace Samuels-Grey, can we? Grin

Congratulations!

I think you probably can, Grace Greys wouldn't be great but I think you can just about get away with it.

She's going to have the best birthdays!

I wouldn't. I love the name Grace too, but my surname starts with as S so I thought when you say the two names together Grace starts sounding like Grey.

Grace is a lovely name though with your surname it does sound a bit of a mouthful (sorry).

I wouldn't'.... but each to their own so if you love it, go for it.

It's not that bad. The G-S-G feels quite balanced.

I think it's a bit of a mouthful and doesn't flow very well, sorry.

I don't think it's a good idea to end the first name and start the surname with the same sound, is it?

I like it! It sounds very distinguished. Grace Grey would be a no, but as its a hyphenate it's lovely!

The first time said it in my head I really liked it, but unfortunately when I said it out loud it had a very 'Bond, James Bond' sound to it.

Grace S- and Greys simply sound too similar to me, I think if someone with that name was giving their name or introducing themselves I'd struggle with what they were saying.

It's quite hard to enunciate the Grace then the Samuels. Plus it does sound like Greys.

What about Gracie? Or Faith, or Hope, or Verity?
