These will be the names on the BC.

We have a Hollie.

Thanks!

Bonnie sounds lovely.

Honestly? None of them, at least not without more formal names for the BC. They'll sound (sorry) terribly twee together with Hollie (any reason why that spelling)? Maddie's the best of the bunch - Bonnie and Dottie the worst because of the 'o' sound.

How about Matilda, shortened to Tilda? Or Katie? Lucy? Amy?

Bonnie

Bonnie - sounds like a dog
Dottie - not keen
Mattie - sounds like a boy
Harrie - just wrong
Maddie - the only appropriate one to use as an actual name

I knew a Hollie with a sister called Sophie - that worked.

I like Bonnie best.

Admittedly, not great with Hollie, but I really don't like the others.

Maddie is best of a bad bunch. Bonnie and hollie?😂😂

Are Mattie and Harrie names for a girl on their own? Matilda or Harriet yes, but I've never heard of anyone actually named Mattie or Harrie as their whole name.

As a PP suggested, Sophie goes well with Hollie if you want two "ie" names?

I love Mattie.

Bonnie is truly dreadful. I'm Scottish, up here it would be like calling your daughter 'Beautiful'.

Maddie

They sound like nicknames to me.

Harriet nn harrie
Dorothy nn Dorothy
Matilda nn Mattie

Bonnie is okay.

What about Marnie?

Maddie is sweet.

Not Dottie, it means a bit unhinged.

I love Hollie with the ie ending, I don't really know why but it's very pretty.

Bonnie because it is the only one that won't have the kid explaining for the rest of her life that no it isn't short for anything!

Report
hoddtastic · 25/10/2016 15:49

is it for a puppy or a person? A proper name for a real person.

Ida3456 · 25/10/2016 15:51

I like Mattie but if I were you I'd call her Matilda and shorten it to mattie

I like Bonnie as a name but not with a sister called Hollie - they sound too similar to me. What about Cassie or Tilly.

Diddlydokey · 25/10/2016 15:52

Dottie - losing marbles.

Maddie is nice

KoalaDownUnder · 25/10/2016 16:04

There are so many Maddies around, though, and they're all short for Madeline or Madison. She'll be forever explaining herself. Sad

Sophronia · 25/10/2016 16:15

Not keen on any of them, but Bonnie is probably the best of the lot

Harrie- cute, but could it be short for Harriet?

Report
KoalaDownUnder · 25/10/2016 16:22

Lottie?

(Please not Harrie! Shock)
