Baby names

Rosanna, Marianne, Sienna

Would like some thoughts on these names for baby number 2. The full list is:
Marianne
Rosanna
Matilda
Sienna

Sienna is not as classic as the other names and a bit fashionable which puts me off but it's probably dh's fave, although he likes the others. Suppose I'm slightly concerned that Rosanna and Marianne might seem a bit old fashioned...
Any middle name ideas would be great as well, possibly Elizabeth or Eliza for family reasons.

Thanks baby-namersSmile

Love Sienna. Sienna Rose sounds lovely.
I'm toying with the idea of Marianne as a middle name myself. Be aware that if it's a first name, it'll prob get shortened to Max...

Marianne
Sienna
Matilda (will be shortened to Tilly which is beautiful and I prefer)
In that order

Really not a fan of Rosanna sounds a bit dated/80's to me.

I like Marianne. Also what about Marion (used by Julia Roberts for one of her children).

Also Susannah has a similar vibe and I quite like it.

I love Matilda, but only in its full form or shortened to Mattie. I can't stand Tilly or Tilda, which is the reason I'd never personally use it.

I love Sienna too. I've never known a Sienna IRL.

I like the idea of Marianne, because of Marianne Faithfull (just about the coolest name association), but I just can't bring myself to actually like the name.

I don't like Rosanna, but do like Rose.

Matilda and Sienna are beautiful.

Really dislike the other names.

I love Marianne and wanted to use it for dd but I have a cousin called MaryAnne and knew that everyone would call her that and it would have annoyed me forever
So, she is Alice instead 🙂

I was very keen on Marianne for my dd for a while but couldn't persuade DP. I think it's lovely

Not keen on Rosanna but like all the others. Probably in this order:
Matilda
Sienna
Marianne

Marianne is my favourite girls name! Love it.

I don't like Sienna but really like your other names. I know of (but not actually met) some Siennas with hyphens e.g. Sienna-Rose etc etc and I would worry its become a kind of Lily in that respect (v beautiful name in its own right but used with a hyphen so much it's ruined for me!)

I quite like Sienna.
Matilda is okay I suppose but I'm not a big fan.
The others I don't like.

Thanks everyone. Quite split opinions! I was worried about Rosanna being a bit 80s but I think it's been around for much longer... I am not sure that I like Matilda's nicknames as much as the original name... still not decided but I do have a couple of months to go and good to hear what others think.

Marianne would be my choice from your list.

Sienna is very sleb, and Matilda has been very granny-chic for a while now (along with Tabitha etc)

I don't like Rosanna at all. Here (Italy) it's pretty middle aged frumpy.

I like them in the order listed in the OP. 'Sienna' has always been a brownish paint colour in my mind.

I like Matilda, but not Tilly

Eliza is lovely

I really love Marianne and Rosanna.

I like the others too, but Matilda is quite popular now and I think Sienna will date.

I love Marianne Smile

Marianne is lovely and is my favourite.

Rosanna would be sure to be shortened to Rose which I don't like. Not keen on Sienna, as it's a paint colour, is the city spelt with one "N"?

Not keen on Eliza, sounds like a Cockney flower seller.

I love Marianne. It was my favourite girls name for ages but I couldn't use it as it sounded bad with out surname. I always thought I'd abbreviate it to Annie if I wanted a nickname..... I could imagine calling her Mariannie as a cute baby-style call, which would then go to Annie.

It's such a cool, classic, sophisticated name that is also cute on a baby.

Can I also suggest Ramona or Diana/Diane

I think Romilly is similar to your list, and a lovely name, or perhaps Jacyntha?

Thanks again, I actually work in a small office with a Ramona (Spanish) and a Diana, oddly enough! Nice names but don't think I could use them.

Husband added ariane/arianne in to the mix last night, & I think I like it! Good nickname potential. I like Ariane Eliza.
