Noa for a girl? I personally love it but the hubby isn't sure. He likes it though.

Haffdonga Fri 21-Oct-16 13:37:30

It's a No - a from me.

Oysterbabe Fri 21-Oct-16 13:59:40

Presumably it's pronounced exactly the same as Noah? When introducing herself everyone will just think she has a boys name.

Meadows76 Fri 21-Oct-16 14:00:34

No. it's a boys name. It's also incorrectly spelt.

mycatstares Fri 21-Oct-16 14:00:53

It looks like you've started to write a name then got distracted and didn't finish it.

DramaInPyjamas Fri 21-Oct-16 14:01:18

I love the name Noah but Noa is terrible.

LunaLoveg00d Fri 21-Oct-16 14:02:37

Noa is a perfume brand I think. Noah is a boys name.

Naomi is a great choice of girls name.

Vixxfacee Fri 21-Oct-16 14:03:25

I like it.

I love it but had never heard of it before watching an Israeli drama .

LorelaiVictoriaGilmore Fri 21-Oct-16 14:06:08

I really like it. My friend's little girl is called Noa... she is Isreali/Jewish...

MidnightSheep Fri 21-Oct-16 14:07:27

It is a gorgeous name. I'd pronounce it No -AH for a girl as this is how my Norwegian/Israeli cousin pronounces it.

For a boy I'd say NO-ah

I really like it. I thought about it for dd3 but my husband didn't like it at all.

tibbawyrots Fri 21-Oct-16 15:11:11

lovely name (Hebrew origin) but you'll probably have people spell/say it incorrectly

appalachianwalzing Fri 21-Oct-16 15:14:21

I know it as an Israeli girls name because I know one, but I think it would be a struggle in the UK because of the popularity of Noah as a boys name. Which is a shame, it's nice, but I think it would require too much explaining.

pugsake Fri 21-Oct-16 15:21:38

I like it. Im not a good judge though as my family has some very "out there" names. Think sports cars and weather forecasts grin

Purplebluebird Fri 21-Oct-16 15:23:14

Noa/Noah is a boy name. Not for girls. Would be like calling a girl James, imo.

VivienneWestwoodsKnickers Fri 21-Oct-16 15:28:34

No. She'll spend the rest of her life spelling it and explaining it.

SorenaJ Fri 21-Oct-16 17:35:03

I like it.

serin Fri 21-Oct-16 17:42:36

Just because it's not a commonly heard name in the UK does not mean it isn't a perfectly valid girls name elsewhere.

If you like it OP then go for it.

(Mind you I did instantly think of Norfolk Ornithologist's Association!! which DH is a member of).

ThroughThickAndThin01 Fri 21-Oct-16 17:42:46

Too many boy Noah's.

SirChenjin Fri 21-Oct-16 17:46:39

If you have Israeli or Jewish heritage then go for it - otherwise it's a boys name that you've misspelled.
