Due for a comeback.
Just warn your Dorothy that if she ever visits Australia she'll be dubbed Doz or Dorro.

I think it's an awful old-fashioned (not-in-a-good-way) name.

Dislike Dorothy but delphine is nice.

Oops, pressed send to soon. It was on my list for DD, but DH vetoed it. Same with Sylvia.

Dorothy is old fashioned even for 50 year olds! Awful name sorry.

It was my nan's name. she would have been in her 90s and even she hated it.

It's cute! Wizard of Oz connotations though. Going to Kansas?, there's no place like home, where's Toto...Still would use it if you like it.

In Cider with Rosie, Laurie's sister is Dorothy, nn Doth.

I love it!

But can I just add something for the youngsters in here. I'm 50 and don't know a single person called Dorothy so it certainly isn't a "50 year old name".
It's more of an 80/90 year old name. It's still beautiful though.
