Our son has been here a week, but we still can't pick between these 2.

Which one do you prefer? smile

We have a daughter named Harmony.

We know our liked names aren't to everyone's tastes, but oh well!

Griffin by a mile.

Congratulations on his safe arrival!

Griffin for sure.

Sorry dislike both, but griffin is more bearable.
Think Phoenix is naff though.

Definitely Griffin

DoloresVanCartier Sun 09-Oct-16 14:30:46

Aren't they both mythical creatures?
Neither for me I'm afraid.

I already said that people might not like them, no need to say really, unless you have a preference (for future people who will comment!!!)

Thanks everyone smile

Yes, I assume he'll be Griff

Griffin. Once you get used to it (I know a teenage one) Griffin does actually sound like a normal enough name on a boy that other kids will get used to. Phoenix will set him up for a lifetime of difficulty. Griffin also goes better with Harmony.

Trying to be polite as you clearly don't want our opinions on the names themselves. We have very different tastes grin

Both are a little too out there for me to use, but I do actually like both. I think Griffin is a little more manly, so that gets my vote.

Where I live The Griffin is the roughest pub in town so I just think of that and therefore hate it.
Phoenix is cute.

ThroughThickAndThin01 Sun 09-Oct-16 16:34:17

Foxtato Sun 09-Oct-16 16:59:27

Definitely Griffin! smile

Phoenix is unisex so depends if that influences your choice. I only know female Phoenixs (what is the correct plural?).

Prefer Griffin I think although Griffin is also a surname which I'm generally not keen on for first names.

So....dunno? Not helpful sorry blush

Evergreen17 Sun 09-Oct-16 17:01:25

I like Phoenix a lot

pinocchiosnose Sun 09-Oct-16 17:02:23

Im going to go against the grain and say Phoenix . Griffin just makes me think of Peter Griffin from family guy while Phoenix brings images of Joaquin and River smile

wherethewildrosesgrow Sun 09-Oct-16 17:09:56

griffin is better phoenix might get shortened to 'fee' or nic/nix, which is fine if you don't mind this, there are loads of names I like, but I'm put off by the shortened versions, you wont be able to stop this as they get older
