Or is it too much?

DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen Fri 07-Oct-16 18:03:13

Too much imo.

SomethingAboutNothing Fri 07-Oct-16 18:03:40

Sorry, too much

Eglantyne Fri 07-Oct-16 18:04:14

No. In my handwriting they would look exactly the same.

NoNutsPlease Fri 07-Oct-16 18:04:16

Definitely too much!

They don't sound that similar, but look odd written together. One looks like a typo of the other.

Too much

Twins or not I wouldn't but maybe one as a middle name?

I agree with some handwriting it will be confusing also can see lots of ways that this could be tricky - ie doctors appointments can imagine getting the wrong details called up etc.

ReeceJ Fri 07-Oct-16 18:13:51

What about Ewan then?

worldsworstchildren Fri 07-Oct-16 18:18:46

I know three brothers called Evan, Euan and Ieuan. Its not very imaginative.
But you could spell it Iwan

Bin85 Fri 07-Oct-16 18:21:39

Having same initial gets very confusing when they get older and start having post addressed to them etc

ReeceJ Fri 07-Oct-16 18:22:59

I don't know where people get that from. I have the same initial as my sisters and it was never a problem confusedgrin

I have the same initial as my sisters and it was never a problem

Same here.

However, Evan and Euan/Ewan is way too close for me. Seems kind of ridiculous in fact.

Fair enough, thanks all

The only other name on our list is Ryan! Guess that's his name then smile

Sugarpiehoneyeye Fri 07-Oct-16 20:01:55

Reece, you can have what you want, you asked for opinions, and people gave them. They are both nice names, just similar.
Ryan is very nice, but make your own choice, there are no name police 😄

HoratioNightboy Fri 07-Oct-16 20:31:42

Ewen is another possible spelling, OP. Older spellings included Eouine and Ewn, although they probably look a bit "Eouineek" these days.

bumblemouse Fri 07-Oct-16 20:36:09

How about Owen?

CPtart Fri 07-Oct-16 20:59:31

Too similar. I love the name Evan btw but not Ryan

sooperdooper Fri 07-Oct-16 21:03:11

No, far too similar - Ryan is nice though smile

What about Dylan or Haydn?

NotYoda Sat 08-Oct-16 18:31:32

I love Evan Btw, but also not Ryan

PotatoBread Sat 08-Oct-16 19:00:00

No. You would be effectively giving your sons the same name but with one letter different. Give them a bit more originality than that.

AmserGwin Sun 16-Oct-16 09:40:57

Ifan instead?

Coey2016 Sun 16-Oct-16 23:08:18

Too similar for me
