What do people think of the name Harriet. We would probably call her Hattie day to day.

Love it, one of my favourite girls names.

I think it's lovely , although I have a Hattie and it gets a lot of Hmm looks

It's ok but a bit plain imho. DD (4) had 3 Hatties at preschool (total 35 kids, 20 in each session).

It's a safe choice but leaves me feeling a bit meh.

Love it, even suggested it to my DH but then realised with my cockney accent she'd get called 'ah-ee'!
Make sure you're in an area where people pronounce their h's and t's

I love it, but I am biased! At the moment it's not shortened, but dd is only 4.6 years, so I'm sure it will be soon!

I'm not a big fan, I find the 't' ending a bit sharp

I'm a Harriet and most people don't really say the 't' so it's not that sharp. Sounds a bit prissy if you say the 't'. I'm a Harry. Like my name!

I love it. We were planning on using it for our daughter but she didn't 'fit' the name.

Great name.
I wish I was called Harriet!

Yes, it's the same as Charlotte, Scarlett etc, not a crazy OTT T! :)

Only know one, and love it. Lovely classic timeless name.

Good point maybe I'm overthinking it :-)

I find it a bit prim TBH, but a lot of people like it so take no notice of me Grin

It's my DDS name and I love it. She's only 7 months old so has no opinion yet. Haven't had a negative comment though Smile

I usually hate girl versions of boy's names, but I make an exception for Harriet!

Harriet Vane is a brilliant role model too.
