What do you think?

LaContessaDiPlump Sat 01-Oct-16 10:34:51

He will be nicknamed Endy (or everyone will think he said Ian); she will be nicknamed Ellie. Full name won't be used by anyone except you after the age of 12.

Sorry OP, it's a no from me.

SoupDragon Sat 01-Oct-16 10:37:04

Isn't this the place name used by the Camerons for their youngest?

Mybeardeddragonjustdied2016 Sat 01-Oct-16 10:37:55

Made me think of Dandelion sorry!!

UnicornPee Sat 01-Oct-16 10:45:12

If you live in a castle then it's fine

EllenDegenerate Sat 01-Oct-16 10:45:27

Oh sorry, should have said that it's a girls name.
Derived from an obscure Cornish Saint, the Goddaughter of King Arthur no less. It means fire soul.

I don't think the Cameron's have a child named Endellion?

Iliveinalighthousewiththeghost Sat 01-Oct-16 10:47:42

Its one of the MNS of Dave and Sam Cams baby, Well she's not a baby now, is she. She must be about 6.
I'm not too keen. TBH. Very harsh

neonrainbow Sat 01-Oct-16 10:50:19

I like it. It sounds old, like arthur and the round table kind of old. At least it's different.

FranklyMeDeer Sat 01-Oct-16 10:50:38

Youngest Cameron has Endellion as a middle name, iirc she arrived unexpectedly early on a family holiday to Cornwall.

WHY I have remembered that I couldn't tell you

neonrainbow Sat 01-Oct-16 10:50:46

Ha just saw your second post.

SoupDragon Sat 01-Oct-16 10:52:24

WHY I have remembered that I couldn't tell you

Me neither.

Flora Endellion I believe.

SoupDragon Sat 01-Oct-16 10:53:08

Flora Rose Endellion now I've googled.

MrsHulk Sat 01-Oct-16 10:53:29

I like it. She will prob be nicknamed Endi or Delli but those are both sweet.

It's unusual but actually pretty easy to see how you pronounce it when you see it so I don't think it would cause many issues

Iliveinalighthousewiththeghost Sat 01-Oct-16 10:54:38

I thought her first name was Florence

MyNewBearTotoro Sat 01-Oct-16 10:59:14

Makes me think of Dandelion as well.

FranklyMeDeer Sat 01-Oct-16 11:03:04

Soup I can't remember what I did yesterday but I'm awesome at trivial pursuit grin

Flora Rose Endellion is lovely
Didn't the Blairs have a Leo for their in office baby? I like that name too.

OP I think it's a lovely name smile

EllenDegenerate Sat 01-Oct-16 11:03:20

I don't think dandelions are a bad association; I'm slightly put off that the. Amerindians have made use of it already though.

SoupDragon Sat 01-Oct-16 11:04:04

thought her first name was Florence

ThNk god I was wrong about something to do with theCamerons!

EllenDegenerate Sat 01-Oct-16 11:04:16

The Cameron's not the Amerindians 😂

NuffSaidSam Sat 01-Oct-16 13:04:53

I'm not keen on it. I think it's quite harsh sounding and Endi and Delli are both terrible nicknames. It just seems a bit 'try hard'.

MissElizaBennettsBaubles Sat 01-Oct-16 13:11:22

I think it's a lovely name

But then Delli is one of my nicknames as my little bro couldn't pronounce my name when he was small

My name isn't Endellion btw...

0pti0na1 Sat 01-Oct-16 15:13:35

I like it.

MrsHughesCarson Sat 01-Oct-16 15:17:51

I like it ,but it does make me think of the Cameron's daughter, although they will hopefully have fallen into obscurity in a few years.

HoratioNightboy Sat 01-Oct-16 15:21:51

How is it pronounced? I'm thinking End-ELL-ee-on but happy to be corrected!

rainbowstardrops Sat 01-Oct-16 15:23:10

I quite like it really but my first thought was dandelion too.
That's a weed that supposedly makes you wet the bed isn't it?! Sorry grin
Honestly, I like it
